 Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VINCENT - A driver died Wednesday afternoon after crashing into the rear of tractor trailer, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash occurred on westbound San Bernardino Road west of Nora Avenue around 4:38 p.m. The driver of a 1996 Freightliner tractor trailer stopped ahead of a 1998 Honda Civic to begin backing into a driveway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
All other drivers on the road behind the tractor trailer stopped except for the Civic driver who continued driving at an unsafe speed until he slammed into the left rear side of the tractor trailer, the CHP said. The Civic became pinned under the tractor trailer. The 75-year-old driver of the Civic was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center where he died. His name has not yet been publicly released. |
