Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor WALNUT - Three suspects were arrested Monday afternoon after crashing their ride after a long pursuit, Sheriff’s deputies said.
The suspects attempted to get inside a home in the 19800 block of Hidden Trail Place in Walnut, but eventually fled. Arriving deputies alerted nearby units of the suspect vehicle, a brown SUV Porsche with paper plates, which was spotted by a Sheriff’s helicopter fleeing west on the 60 freeway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The suspects were driving as fast as 90 miles an hour. The suspects crashed into a delivery truck in Bell Gardens after exiting the 710 freeway at Gage Avenue. The suspects fled on foot once their SUV became disabled and took refuge in a repair shop in the 5400 block of Gage Avenue. A massive law enforcement containment involving deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, Compton Sheriff’s Station, Sheriff’s County Services Bureau, Sheriff’s Special Weapons Team and Bell Gardens Police Department helped to locate the suspects, Sheriff’s deputies said. The suspects’ booking information was not provided. |
