At least two unidentified men then heavily damaged the hood of the truck and destroyed the windshield to cheers and calls to tip the truck over with a guard still inside.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. at the Plaza, 1111 Plaza Dr.

West Covina officers and school administrators briefly locked down South Hills, 645 Barranca St., around 1:15 p.m. after staff learned of rumors of a student in possession of a weapon, West Covina Police Lt. Travis Tibbetts said. After identifying the student allegedly possessing the handgun, officers learned he did not have the weapon in question. Officers interviewed additional students. “In an abundance of caution, officers conducted a detailed investigation by interviewing additional students and eventually found an inoperable replica handgun inside a backpack possessed by a student that was inside a classroom,” Tibbetts said. The replica handgun was possibly passed around from student to student. Three teens were arrested and booked on suspicion of bringing a replica handgun onto school grounds.
