CityWatch Editor WEST COVINA - A 39-year-old Glendora man was arrested recently, accused of assaulting a teen girl after promising to take her to school and attempting to lure additional girls into his vehicle. Oscar Edgardo Jimenez-Larios was officially charged Larios with one count each of attempting lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and a child under 10, and three counts of annoying and molesting a child under 18, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records. A teen girl was waiting at a West Covina bus stop February 1 to get to school when a man, identified by investigators as Jimenez, approached and convinced her to get in his vehicle. “Instead of taking her to school, Larios drove to a nearby parking lot in West Covina where he sexually assaulted her,” according to the West Covina Police Department in a written statement. Jimenez allegedly attempted to lure additional girls October 3, according to Superior Court records. The latest incidents occurred near a middle school and elementary school in West Covina, according to the West Covina Police Department. Jimenez is being held in lieu of $290,000 bail, according to the West Covina Police Department. Jimenez is in the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles and was arraigned October 8. CityWatch Editor WEST COVINA - An alleged armed motorist was arrested after chasing after another motorist while waving around a handgun, the California Highway Patrol said. The road rage occurred in the West Covina area on the west I-10 freeway. After being given a vehicle description, officers canvassed the area and located the suspect. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and the driver was arrested. A loaded and concealed firearm was recovered at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. ********** Copyright 2025. CityWatch Editor WEST COVINA - Traffic investigators are still determining the circumstances leading to a fatal crash Tuesday morning. A motorcycle and vehicle collided at South Grand Avenue and East Virginia Avenue around 6 a.m. September 30. First responders found the motorcyclist was ejected from his ride. Life-saving measures were implemented, but he died at the scene, according to Sgt. Hawkins of the West Covina Police Department. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene. Edwin Sanchez, 50, died of multiple blunt traumatic injuries. His death was ruled accidental, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
