"It was a call that said 'I shot my wife, I’m going to kill myself and I have two kids in the house.'" Deputies entered the home, but found no weapons and no one was shot, according to Sgt. Pete Shupe of the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station. The prank caller directed people to the 19500 block of Calora Street in the unincorporated community of Charter Oak just after 3 a.m. San Dimas deputies were assisted by Walnut Sheriff’s deputies and the Covina Police Department in containing the house. Confused residents inside the house made phone contact with the San Dimas Sheriff’s Station. At least two adult residents exited the house and were briefly detained, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic. A report was made for a false police call, Shupe said.
