A Claremont Police dispatcher witnessed several vehicles arrive in the city-owned structure, 470 W. 1 St., around 2:13 a.m. All five suspects then gathered in one vehicle, according to the Claremont Police Department. Police detained all five suspects. “One of the subjects, a 23-year-old Pomona resident who was on probation, was found to be in possession of narcotics packaged for sales. Another passenger, a 21-year-old resident of Adelanto, was found to have a loaded handgun in his pants pocket,” Claremont Police said in a written statement. The other three suspects were issued citations for loitering at the parking structure and were released. The city approved a “no loitering” ordinance November 24, 2020 to help reduce criminal activity in the city-owned parking structure. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor CLAREMONT - Three teenagers were tracked to a Pomona home and arrested after two of the suspects allegedly robbed their victim of property during a scheduled transaction.
Two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old were arrested after the victim gave officers a description of the suspects and their vehicle, which led investigators to Pomona, according to the Claremont Police Department. The victim was robbed of the property that was intended to be sold around 1:15 p.m. Sunday in the area of West First Street and South Indian Hill Boulevard said Jason Walters, lieutenant for the Claremont Police Department. Two 17-year-olds met the victim and during the intended transaction, a firearm was brandished. The suspects demanded the property which was surrendered and the two suspects fled to a waiting vehicle, Walters said. The suspects were located at a home in the 1400 block of East Holt Boulevard. Eventually, two suspects emerged from the home and entered a vehicle which was driven away from the location. Officers moved in and performed a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle yielded evidence tied to the crime. Both 17-year-olds were arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery, Walters sad. A subsequent search of the suspect home yielded additional evidence tied to the robbery, including the property taken at gunpoint, Walters said. A 15-year-old boy inside the home was also arrested and booked on suspicion of robbery. One of the teens was taken to the Central Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles, while a second teen was released to the custody of a parent or guardian. A third teen was released from custody, pending additional investigation, Walters said. The unidentified driver refused to stop for an officer who reportedly observed the suspect commit a traffic violation at Indian Hill and Bonita Avenue around 11:08 a.m. During the chase, the driver lost control and crashed into some trees at Elder Drive and Green Street, according to the Claremont Police Department. “Upon officers conducting a search of the vehicle, they found a loaded .380 Jimenez Arms Inc. handgun located inside a sock in the center console and a loaded Springfield Armory XD 9mm handgun on the ground. Also found inside the vehicle was Xanax, heroin, and methamphetamine, all packaged for sales,” Claremont Police said in a written statement.
The suspect was arrested and booked on suspicion of illegal possession of firearms and possession for sales. The suspect had a female passenger, but there was no word if she was arrested, or set free. The four men arrived in a dark colored Alfa Romeo sedan at 9:35 p.m. Saturday To the dealership, 620 Auto Center Dr. Three of the four suspects ran to the service department, smashed a window to the door and stole keys to three vehicles that had been serviced. One suspect attempted to flee in a Chrysler 300, but crashed into a wall, according to the Claremont Police Department. The three suspects eventually entered two other vehicles from the service area and escaped the property by ramming two chain-link gates. The stolen vehicles were driven east towards Indian Hill Boulevard from Auto Center Drive, followed by the fourth suspect in the Alfa Romeo, Claremont Police said. Stolen was a black 2018 dodge Durango and a black 2016 Chrysler 300M. One suspect was described as a male standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, has a thin build and wore a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a mask.
A second suspect is described as a male standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He wore a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, light-colored jeans and black shoes. A third suspect is described as a male standing 5 feet 5 inches tall, has a thin build and he wore a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes. An alarm activated at Sanamluang, 710 S. Indian Hill Blvd, just after 3 a.m. The first arriving officer found a rear door to the restaurant was pried open, according to the Claremont Police Department. Officers searched inside the restaurant, but the suspect fled before they arrived. Surveillance footage caught the suspect using a crowbar to gain access. The money was stored in a drawer near the front counter, Claremont Police said. The suspect, a male in a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, and white and black Nike tennis shoes fled on foot. John Dehaseth attempted to flee through the rear door of his home in the 1500 block of Mural Drive August 27 as detectives from the Claremont Police Department, aided by the Claremont police drug detection canine, closed in on the suspect at his home. He was detained and placed into custody, the Claremont Police Department said. The arrest came as a result from months of investigation after a victim came forward March 23. Officers responded to the 1500 block of mural Drive. A 38-year-old woman told police she was drugged and sexually assaulted by the suspect inside his nearby home, Claremont Police said. “During months of continuous investigation, evidence was located, which corroborated the victim’s statement,” Claremont Police said in a written statement. After the arrest Thursday, police confiscated evidence related to the assault inside the suspects home. Dehaseth Was booked on suspicion of rape and possession of drug paraphernalia he is being held in Lou of $100,000 bail a head of a scheduled appearance in Pomona superior Court August 31. The assault was reported near the Metrolink station parking lot, 100 E. First St., August 15 before 7 p.m. A witness reported a naked man running from the location, blood running down his face, according to the Claremont Police Department. The naked man was chased a man swinging a skateboard, the latter had attempted to steal the other’s property by striking him in the head multiple times. “Both subjects were detained and LA County Fire responded to provide medical aid. The victim had a deep laceration on his head due to being struck with the skateboard by the suspect,” the Claremont Police Department said. The naked man was taken to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center. The unidentified suspect was booked on suspicion of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The suspect was also listed as being on active probation for the controlling charge of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, Claremont Police said. The incident occurred on Foothill Boulevard when they noticed a maroon Nissan being driven erratically behind them, the driver honking his horn at them, Claremont Police said. The suspect stopped alongside the officers at a red light as they waited to turn north onto Indian Hill Boulevard, began yelling and pointed a handgun in the officers’ direction, his finger on the trigger, Claremont Police said. “Traffic cleared and the off-duty officers were able to drive away from the suspect, but the suspect continued to follow them,” Claremont Police said in a written statement.
Claremont officers were called and the suspect was detained during a high-risk traffic stop on Bonita Avenue west of Indian Hill Boulevard. A 9mm glock “ghost gun” was discovered along with methamphetamine and a meth pipe, Claremont Police said. The 21-year-old suspect was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed, being under the influence of a controlled substance while armed and brandishing a firearm. The man approached a tow truck driver who was towing a vehicle away from Indian Hill Boulevard south of Arrow Highway and pointed his finger at him as if he wanted to shoot him, according to the Claremont Police Department. The man allegedly threaten to shoot the tow truck driver and any Claremont police officer who arrived to the scene. He also attempted to make his way into the tow truck, but was pulled away by the driver, Claremont police said. The driver ran away from the truck after the man reached for his waistband and claimed he was going to wait in the bushes to shoot arriving Claremont officers. A search conducted by Claremont officers, Pomona police officers, a K9 and a helicopter yielded no suspect. It is not publicly clear what connection the man has to the two people who were arrested during the traffic stop on Indian Hill Boulevard. An alleged DUI a driver was arrested at 10 p.m. Friday. The passenger was also arrested after officers discovered the passenger had an outstanding federal probation warrant for human smuggling, Claremont police said. The man who threaten the tow truck driver and police is described as a light skin Hispanic or white man who stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, has short dark hair and wore a light blue shirt and blue jean pants. Indian Hill Blvd., just before 7 a.m. August 3 to a shooting call and found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside one of the rooms, according to the Claremont Police Department. “The shooting victim was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where they underwent surgery and are expected to survive. The motivation that led to the shooting is unknown,” the Claremont Police Department said in a written statement.
The suspect possibly fled the motel in a vehicle. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 25 years old, stands 6 feet tall and wore a baseball hat.
