The carjacking took place outside H Mart, 2825 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. around 3:40 p.m. The suspect, only described as a Black man between 20 and 25 years old wearing jeans and a mask, took a 1999 Toyota Camry, according to Lt. Knight of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The Camry was driven away east on Golden Springs Drive. The victim was uninjured, Knight told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - Deputies searched for, but could not locate a man in a black minivan accused of exposing himself April 30, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s sergeant said. The man was scene exposing himself in the area of Golden Prados Drive and Mount Street just before 7:30 p.m. A witness saw the man exposing himself through an open rear passenger door to the van, according to Sgt. Estep of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Estep did not know what direction the suspect fled in, nor did she have a better description on the suspect. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A husband and wife were hospitalized after being attacked and zip-tied during a brazen robbery March 12. A husband and wife arrived home and were confronted by three men clad in black clothing and masks in the 600 block of Blenfield Place around 9 p.m. One of the men had a handgun, according to Lt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. “The suspects assaulted the husband and wife. They had moderate injuries,” Avila told SGV CityWatch. They were hospitalized for bruising and contusions. The suspect zip-tied the hands and feet of the couple and went in the home where the couple's children were. The suspects demanded the locations to a safe and some jewelry. They eventually escaped watches and bracelets, Avila told SGV CityWatch.
One of the suspects threatened one of the children with the handgun, Avila told SGV CityWatch. “Apparently, the suspects knew the names of the victims,” Avila told SGV CityWatch. The robbery investigation will be handed over to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A teen was hit by a vehicle near Chaparral Middle School Tuesday. A vehicle was moving at an estimated 20 to 30 miles per hour when it hit the teen, according to Sgt. Estep of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station. The crash occurred around 7:32 a.m. in the 22500 block of East Mountain Laurel Way.
The teen suffered a head contusion, Estep said. A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter landed at Chaparral Middle School and the teen was airlifted to a trauma center, according to Inspector Narvaez of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The driver remained at the scene. An updated condition was not readily available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR – A pursuit suspect died at the scene after striking a concrete pole while evading Pomona officers. The suspect, only described as a male, fled officers who tried to conduct a traffic stop on South Reservoir Street near the off ramp from the eastbound 60 freeway in Pomona, according to Public Information Officer Aly Mejia of the Pomona Police Department. The pursuit began around 2:30 a.m. January 21.
The pursuit entered Diamond Bar where the rider crashed, Mejia said. Firefighters were called by Pomona Police to the area of West Mission Boulevard and West Temple Avenue at 2:40 a.m. to a solo motorcycle crash, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fatality crash is being investigated by deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - A suspect simulated a handgun and demanded cash, escaping with cash from Chase Bank Saturday morning, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. A 9-1-1 call was made from Chase Bank, 334 S. Diamond Bar Blvd., at 10:57 a.m. January 4. The suspect fled with $1,000, according to Sgt. Anderson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Roughly 20 minutes after the robbery occurred, deputies located a grey Mustang they believed was connected to the robbery. It was followed from near West Mission Boulevard and South Huntington Street to East Phillips Boulevard and South San Antonio Avenue.
The driver and vehicle were not involved in the robbery, Anderson said. The suspect was described as a white man in his 50s, Anderson said. A Sheriff’s crime broadcast further described the suspect as wearing a grey hat, grey hooded sweatshirt and he sported a reddish beard and mustache. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor DIAMOND BAR - Deputies arrested a 45-year-old Chino Hills man who is accused of threatening to shoot up a school after becoming upset he missed his child’s choir performance. Deputies were called by the vice principal to Chaparral Middle School, 1405 Spruce Tree Dr., just after 7:30 p.m. October 17. The suspect missed his child’s performance at a choir concert, causing him to become irate. “It was his son’s recital. He made a statement that he’s going to leave the place and come back with guns to shoot up the school,” according to Lt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station.
Authorities were called after the suspect left the school. Deputies searched and found him at nearby Rainbow Donuts, 1271 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. He was positively identified as the man who allegedly threatened the school, Avila said. The unidentified suspect was booked on suspicion of making threats with intent to terrorize. He was transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be treated for an existing medical issue, Avila said. The operation was held on Diamond Bar Boulevard and Highland Valley Road from 6 p.m. Friday, August 9 to 2 a.m. Saturday, August 10. In addition to the driver arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, one other driver was arrested on suspicion of felony identity theft and misdemeanor possession of drugs, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. No other suspects are apparently outstanding in the 1000 block of Banner Ridge Road where a suspect was taken into custody after fleeing through residential yards just before 11:30 a.m.
