 Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor EAST SAN GABRIEL - A male was found shot in the abdomen inside a crashed truck early Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said. Deputies, CHP officers and county firefighters responded to Lotus Avenue South of Huntington Drive around 5:10 a.m. August 8 to a traffic collision. After arriving, deputies discovered a male wounded by gunfire in a heavily-damaged truck, according to CHP traffic logs.
No information was available on the location of the shooting, but the CHP searched for the scene of the collision along Huntington Drive where the male said it occurred. No crash scene was found, the CHP said. The crashed truck ended up in the 7200 block of Lotus Avenue. The gunshot victim was transported to an area hospital, according to Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The California Highway Patrol is investigating. |
