Oscar Villamil, 43, is accused of assaulting an older couple by punching and kicking them as they set out for their morning walk in the area of Colorado Boulevard and Arroyo Parkway, Pasadena Police said. “Villamil critically injured one of the victims and the victim is currently hospitalized with life threatening injuries,” according to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. Villamil is Hispanic, stands 6 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds. He is homeless and is known to frequent Pasadena on the Metro bus and Metro Rail system. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - A motorcycle officer was unharmed after a truck driver allegedly intentionally crashed into a police officer’s motorcycle and sped away from the scene Friday morning.
The officer was conducting traffic enforcement at the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Rosemont Avenue November 6. The officer pulled over the truck driver who allegedly ran a red light. Initially compliant, the driver then backed his truck into the motorcycle and fled, according to Lt. Marie Sell of the Pasadena Police Department. “As the officer walked to the rear of the vehicle towards his motorcycle, the suspect put the truck in reverse and rammed the motorcycle, narrowly missing the officer,” Sell told SGV CityWatch. The incident occurred around 8:25 a.m. The suspect then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A search of the area did not yield the suspect who remains at large, Sell told SGV CityWatch. The woman was assaulted and robbed in the 1500 block of Fair Oaks Avenue around 2:35 a.m. August 14, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The woman was walking home from work. The suspect walked past the victim and then grabbed on her shoulder bag to take it from her. The force caused a woman to fall backwards and receive significant injuries, Pasadena Police said. The suspect then struck the woman in the face as she continued to hold onto her shoulder bag. She eventually let go after being hit, Pasadena Police said. The victim describe the suspect as a 40-year-old black man. He stands 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds And wore a black polo shirt and gray pants at the time of the robbery. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA – An attempted murder suspect is facing seven years to life in state prison after admitting to slashing a woman’s throat during a rampage in 2017. Lance Anthony Semkus, 75, pleaded no contest to one felony count of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder. He also admitted to an allegation of using a knife and a deadly and dangerous weapon, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Public Information Officer Ricardo Santiago.
The attack occurred October 23, 2017. After attempting to steal a woman’s dog outside a Pasadena pet store, Semkus approached another woman and slashed her throat. The woman fought back and survived, but suffered severe injuries, Santiago said. Investigators learned that Semkus killed his two dogs. Semkus is scheduled to be sentenced July 13 in Pasadena Superior Court. The shooting took place around 4:11 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Lake Avenue May 23. Both victims, one 24 and the other 23 years old, were treated on scene by Pasadena fire paramedics and hospitalized in critical condition, according to the Pasadena Police Department. “Preliminary investigation revealed both victims were stopped in their vehicle in the area when a late model sedan drove behind them and fired multiple times into their vehicle,” according to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement.

The announcement ending the shelter-in-place order was given at 2:53 p.m. The stabbing victim remains in critical condition. Police searched at-length around South Euclid Avenue from Green Street to California Boulevard from north to south and Los Robles Avenue to Marengo Avenue from east to west.
The stabbing was reported to Pasadena Police dispatch around 9:30 a.m. on South Euclid Avenue. Nearby Mayfield Junior High School was placed on lockdown, Pasadena Police said. What led to the stabbing was not immediately disclosed. The suspect is a black male in his 50s. He stands 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, is balding, wears a goatee or mustache and was last seen wearing a green trench coat, Pasadena officials said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and was listed in critical condition. What led to the stabbing was not immediately disclosed. The suspect is described as a Suspect described as Black man with a dark complexion, he has a large build and was seen wearing a green trench coat. He should be considered extremely dangerous. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA - Detectives are looking for more potential victims of a mental health therapist who is accused of sexually assaulting two women. Edgar Gustavo Villamarin, 64, is most recently accused of assaulting a woman November 16, 2018 in his Pasadena office. Detectives were able to link Villamarin to another sex assault accusation from January 2016, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Villamarin was arrested November 27, posted $25,000 bail and was released the same day. He faced arraingment January 10 and posted $450,000 bail. Villamarin was charged January 9 with two counts of assault with intent to commit a felony, one count of attempted sexual battery by restraint, two counts of false imprisonment by violence and two counts of sexual battery by restraint, Pasadena Police said.
The assaults occurred at Villamarin’s office, 86 Orange Place, during scheduled appointments, Pasadena Police said. Villamarin has held various titles during his career, such as marriage and family therapist, clinical supervisor, therapist and program director, for nearly 45 years, according to his website. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences online records show Villamarin’s marriage and family therapist license was revoked in 1998 for unspecified reasons. He was placed on a five-year probation. His current active license expires in 2020. Villamarin is scheduled for another court appearance February 28.
