Police were called around 8:42 p.m. to the location for a person down May 2. The city’s brand new Shot Spotter system also alerted police of multiple gunshots, according to Lt. Marsha Taglioretti of the Pasadena Police Department. “When our officers arrived they did find one person down, a male adult, and he was deceased,” Taglioretti told SGV CityWatch. Pasadena Police detectives have been notified and will be taking over the investigation. There is no suspect description yet available, Taglioretti told SGV CityWatch. A one-hour Sig Alert was issued at 5:56 p.m. April 6. The pedestrian was found just before 5:30 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. It is not yet clear how the pedestrian died. The assault occurred in the 2800 block of East Colorado Boulevard just after 2:30 a.m. March 27. Officers responded to the area to a woman who claimed she was stabbed, but could not find her after a search and calls to her cell phone. The woman turned up at a nearby emergency room, according to Lt. Marcia Taglioretti of the Pasadena Police Department. The stabbing reportedly occurred at the Rodeway Inn & Suites, 2860 E. Colorado Blvd. A hotel guest who wished her name not be used heard screams from a room somewhere at the hotel. “I heard her screaming and the cops questioning people about the girl who got stabbed,” the guest told SGV CityWatch. “She was screaming ‘Help. No. No, please. No. Help me, please.” Hospital staff notified the Pasadena Police Department that a woman arrived with a stab wound to the neck. Officers later found blood evidence of where the stabbing occurred, Taglioretti told SGV CityWatch. A suspect remains at-large. PASADENA – One person was killed in a crash on the 210 freeway early Monday. The westbound No. 4 and 5 lanes are expected to reopen by 8:30 a.m. after having originally closed by about 3 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The fatal crash occurred around 2:35 a.m. February 7. Few details are available, other than the collision was reported around the Lake Avenue off ramp on the westbound 210 freeway. The California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center still has no other details, including how many vehicles were involved, or if it was a pedestrian killed, according to CHP Officer Moises Marroquin. The 15-year-old was located in the 1600 block of North Los Robles Avenue January 18 just after 3 p.m. The teen was taken to an area hospital and was described as being in critical condition, according to the Pasadena Police Department. A second shooting occurred minutes later that left a 20-year-old man wounded in the 500 block of Eldora Road. It is not publicly clear if both shootings are related. Temple City teens Andyn Bae, 17, and Eric Gullekson, 16, died at the scene. Nicholas Torres, a 17-year-old Monterey Park resident died after being hospitalized. The crash occurred around 8:25 p.m. Sunday on Michillinda Avenue south of Foothill Boulevard. Bae was driving the 2005 Honda south on Michillinda when, for unknown reasons, it crashed into a raised concrete curb, bounced and hit a chain link fence, crashed into a dirt/shrub embankment and rolled over, according to the California Highway Patrol. It is unclear as of Tuesday whether alcohol and/or drugs contributed to the crash. The incident unfolded in the 300 block of Villa Street around 9:46 p.m. January 16. Three men were standing outside a park in the area when a group of five males arrived in a sedan, exited the vehicle and confronted the three men, according to the Pasadena Police Department. After the confrontation, one of the males from the sedan stole a necklace from one of the three victims. As the five males reentered the sedan, one of them pulled out a handgun and opened fire, wounding one of the three victims in an arm and his back, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The 20-year-old wounded man was hospitalized. The suspects fled the scene. The wounded 27-year-old drove herself to Huntington Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP officers and major crimes detectives responded to the scene on the eastbound 210 freeway at Lincoln Avenue around 7:30 p.m. after being notified by the Pasadena Police Department. The CHP did not state if a suspect description is available. Anyone with information on this shooting is urged to call Detective M. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor PASADENA – A suspect who stole two vehicles and a beloved dog was arrested after the pet’s GPS collar led officers right to him.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of East Union Street the week of November 29 to a vehicle theft. The suspect dumped his other ride, which was also stolen, and took off with a vehicle containing the owner’s dog, Kazoo, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The GPS collar helped officers to pinpoint the suspect’s location, unbeknownst to him. “Officers were able to monitor the GPS tracker and with the help of the LAPD, were able to stop the suspect in the area of the 105 freeway and Imperial Hwy.,” according to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. Both Kazoo and the stolen vehicle were recovered. The unidentified suspect was taken into custody. Pasadena Police homicide detectives are continuing to search for the person who fired the shot that struck 13-year-old Iran Moreno-Balvaneda as the teen sat in his own home in the 900 block of North Raymond Avenue. The bullet pierced through a window and struck the boy. City officials announced the reward Wednesday, November 24 in hopes of bringing the gunman to justice.
