The suspect was hiding in a home, but it is unclear if he is a resident there. The suspect emerged from the home with his hands behind his head and surrendered without further incident. SOUTH SAN JOSE HILLS - A carjacking suspect is still hiding from deputies after running at the end of a brief pursuit Friday morning. Deputies are searching for the carjacking suspect on Renault Street near La Seda Road, according to Lt. Rick Rector of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The search for the suspect began sometime before 8 a.m., according to witnesses near the scene. Nearby schools, including Yorbita Elementary School, are on lockdown. The suspect, only described as a male Hispanic adult, may be hiding in a home and deputies are performing announcements over a loud speaker to get him to surrender. |
