ARCADIA - Nothing was found after police received a false call of an armed man near a middle school Tuesday morning.
The call, made at 8:15 a.m., came through a payphone and stated a man was seen carrying a weapon on Santa Anita Avenue in the vicinity of First Avenue Middle School, 301 S. First Ave., according to Lt. Whalen Vaughn of the Arcadia Police Department.
The school was locked down as a precaution and searched, although the caller never said the armed man was on the campus, Vaughn said.
The precautionary lockdown was lifted, according to a statement by the Arcadia Unified School District.
