The collision occurred just after 2:10 p.m. A grey sedan possibly spun out and struck other vehicles in the No. 2 lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Arcadia firefighters responded to the scene and used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the driver from the grey sedan, according to the Arcadia Fire Department. The No. 3, 4 and 5 lanes were briefly blocked while the female driver was extricated, the CHP said. One fire was extinguished around 8 a.m. at First Avenue and Colorado Boulevard November 9. Later that night, a second fire was extinguished around 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of East Santa Clara Street at the bottom of a 210 freeway off ramp, Arcadia Police said. “Arson investigators identified a person of interest during the investigation that possessed a cigarette lighter,” Arcadia Police said. The 28-year-old man was detained and he eventually confessed to starting the two fires, Arcadia Police said. The suspect was taken into custody. The vehicle damaged a portion of May Mei Restaurant, 639 W. Duarte Rd., around 2:19 p.m. when the vehicle was driven through a large plate glass window, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The 65-year-old woman behind the wheel was not arrested. No injuries were reported. The Fire’s size is unknown, but engines from Arcadia are being assisted by Monrovia firefighters and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighters were dispatched to Peck Road Park, 5401 Peck Rd., at 8:44 p.m. Firefighters declared knockdown at 9:20 p.m. The fire’s cause is under investigation. Some of the suspects smashed through a window to gain access into a home in the 300 block of Joyce Avenue some time before 12:30 p.m. A resident inside the home heard the noise and called police, according to Sgt. Kollin Cieadlo of the Arcadia Police Department. As officers arrived, they witnessed two suspects flee the home and enter the waiting vehicle where two suspect were already inside. Officers conducted a high risk stop of the vehicle outside the burglarized home and took all four suspects, two adults and two juveniles into custody, Cieadlo said. It is unclear if any property was taken. The suspects are in the booking process at the time this post went live. Police were called to the living quarters area of the Race Track, 285 Huntington Dr., around 9 p.m. to a medical call, according to Lt. Roy Nakamura of the Arcadia Police Department. “It looks like it’s accidental, more of a medical problem than anything else. Definitely no signs of foul play,” Nakamura said. A caller reported to Arcadia Police that the man was unconscious and not breathing. He also suffered from a laceration to the body, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. It is not clear if the laceration is related to the man’s death. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has been notified and will be en route to investigate the cause of death. Huan-Chia Tseng died at Arcadia Methodist Hospital April 24, according to Lt. David Smith of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The manner of death was ruled accidental, according to a Coroner case report. Arcadia officers were called just after 10 p.m. to a residence in the 500 block of West Huntington Drive to an unresponsive woman in a pool. Officers got into the pool and retrieved her, Arcadia Police said. Arcadia Firefighters began life-saving procedures. Tseng was declared dead after arriving to Arcadia Methodist. Details are few, but the woman was pulled by Arcadia Firefighters around 7:06 p.m. Rescuers were initially dispatched at 6:36 p.m. to Clark and Peck regarding the victim. Due to the proximity of the woman, the investigation will likely be handed off to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Park Bureau, according to Sgt. Kollin Cieadlo of the Arcadia Police Department. “When we arrived down there, fire was already at the scene rendering aid,” Cieadlo said. The woman’s condition was not immediately known. |
