Hassan Deontrae Murphy, 18, was arrested by Pasadena Police officers assisting Arcadia Police with a search after Murphy and his accomplice fled their vehicle during the pursuit and jumped over a retaining wall at the 210 freeway west of Allen Avenue. Murphy and his accomplice fled a home in the 2000 block of Carolwood Drive around 11:24 a.m. Police responding to the burglary in progress call witnessed a suspicious white vehicle fleeing the area, Arcadia Police said. The pursuit driver struck two other vehicles before fleeing west on the 210, Arcadia Police said. No injuries were reported. It is unclear if the suspects stole any property from the home. The crime unfolded at Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., around 7 p.m. September 24. Surveillance footage caught two men taking the merchandise, equaling a loss of $6,544, according to the Arcadia Police Department. A suspect vehicle description was not given. Both men, described as Black and in their 20s, wore brown baseball hats. One suspect wore a grey and maroon plaid shirt with a Rolling Stones shirt underneath. The second suspect wore a camouflage shirt and black pants. The burglary was reported just before 12:30 p.m. August 29. The three women entered the store, 733 W. Naomi Ave., and took multiple purses. The total value was nearly $30,000, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The women fled in a waiting Chevrolet Cruz. All three suspects are Black women approximately 25 years old. An unknown suspect smashed through the front glass doors around 6:03 a.m. and ransacked the business, 12340 Lower Azusa Rd., according to the Arcadia Police Department. Police reviewed surveillance footage showing the suspect breaking and stealing checks and an undisclosed amount of cash, Arcadia Police said. The suspect drove off in a white Honda Accord. The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 170 pounds and he wore a long-sleeve shirt and basketball shorts. The search began shortly after 3:15 p.m. Police responded after a neighbor reported a suspicious vehicle in the 2200 block of Highland Oaks Drive, according to Lt. Tom Cullen of the Arcadia Police Department. Cullen was unsure if the suspects made it into a residence, but the four suspects fled, forcing officers to set up a perimeter search. Officers have secured the suspect vehicle. The perimeter search is fairly localized within a small area around the affected Highland Oaks neighborhood, Cullen said. The suspects were initially described as Black men, some or all were dressed in red and black clothing, according to Arcadia Police radio traffic. Some of the suspects smashed through a window to gain access into a home in the 300 block of Joyce Avenue some time before 12:30 p.m. A resident inside the home heard the noise and called police, according to Sgt. Kollin Cieadlo of the Arcadia Police Department. As officers arrived, they witnessed two suspects flee the home and enter the waiting vehicle where two suspect were already inside. Officers conducted a high risk stop of the vehicle outside the burglarized home and took all four suspects, two adults and two juveniles into custody, Cieadlo said. It is unclear if any property was taken. The suspects are in the booking process at the time this post went live. The burglary was reported around 9:38 p.m. in the 1000 block of South 6th Avenue June 8. The homeowner encountered the suspect as he attempted to enter her home. The homeowner was able to scare off the suspect, according to the Arcadia Police Department. The suspect fled before officers arrived. The suspect is described as a light-skinned man, possibly Hispanic or Black. He wore a light blue hooded sweatshirt with a white graphic on the front. A second suspect was heard running from the home, but was never seen, Acadia Police said. |
