The crime was reported around 3 p.m. at the store, 733 W. Naomi Ave. One suspect entered the store and asked to see a Chanel handbag. After placing the handbag on her shoulder, she walked around the store in search of more purses. Her three accomplices then entered and began taking bags, Arcadia Police said. The four thieves grabbed as many handbags as they could carry and fled the store, entered a vehicle and drove away west on Naomi Avenue. The suspects are three Black women and one Black man, all 18 to 23 years old. The value of the stolen merchandise was not disclosed. The robbery occurred in the 1100 block of West Duarte Road at 2:30 a.m. A man and woman were seated in a parked vehicle when the suspect approached with a black handgun. The suspect opened an unlocked door and demanded cash, Arcadia Police said. “The victim handed his wallet to the suspect and the suspect fled into a blue vehicle,” Arcadia Police said. Around 1 p.m. the same day, police were called to the 1100 block of West Duarte Road to retrieve found property: the victim’s stolen wallet and a black pellet gun. The suspect is a Black man, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 140 pounds. He wore a black hoodie and dark pants. The teen boy fled after failing to take the victim’s purse. He fled into a waiting red, four-door sedan, that possibly displayed a personalized or paper plate, according to Arcadia Police. The attempted robbery occurred around 7:27 p.m. The teen boy is described as Hispanic. He wore a red shirt and blue jeans. The victim could not see the driver through the tinted windows, said Lt. Mike Castro of the Arcadia Police Department. The red sedan fled northbound out of Gate 8. |
