Higinio Arceo, 41, from Baldwin Park, was arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, driving under the influence and driving while unlicensed, Pasadena Police said. The pedestrian was struck near East Colorado Boulevard at North Madison Avenue around 3:15 p.m. October 6. A grey pickup truck was west on Colorado when it struck a man in his 30s, Pasadena Police said. Officers searching near the crash scene found a grey Chevy Silverado in an underground parking structure; front end damage was consistent with the deadly crash, Pasadena Police said.
Arceo was working at a nearby construction site and was confirmed as the truck’s registered owner by phone. He returned to the parking structure, was interviewed by police and was arrested, Pasadena Police said. Arceo was arrested at 6:55 a.m. He is being held in the Pasadena City jail in lieu of $160,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County booking records. The collision occurred on East Washington Boulevard at North Raymond Avenue around 10:05 p.m. September 22. The pedestrian was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital and she is believed to be in critical condition, according to Lt. Kim Smith of the Pasadena Police Department. The driver remained at the scene of the crash.

A fire ignited after the collision occurred, which was reported around 6:08 p.m. August 15. The westbound HOV and No. 1 lane are blocked until at least 7:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Trains in both directions are stopped. It is unclear if there has been any damage to Gold Line equipment. The 35-year-old rider of a black 2011 Ducati motorcycle was west on Del Mar Boulevard around 9:30 a.m. The driver of a gray 2010 Hyundai Elantra sedan pulled out in front of the rider south across Del Mar from a Madison stop sign and was broadsided, according to preliminary information from Pasadena Police.
The 24-year-old female driver of the sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The sedan’s driver may not have seen the rider traveling west and pulled out in front of him, Pasadena Police said. The big rig and tractor trailer swerved across lanes and smashed through the divider. The driver was apparently uninjured in the crash, according to the CHP. No other vehicles were involved. Francisco Javier Soto Cedillo, 24, was tracked down to his home in the 800 block of North Oakland Avenue. Cedillo and the vehicle he drove when he fatally struck a 27-year-old woman were both found at the residence, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Jessica Rivera Torres was struck as she crossed the 1100 block of North Fair Oaks Avenue Sunday, October 21, around 7:20 p.m. Torres was declared dead at the scene. Cedillo is being held in lieu of $85,000 bail and is additionally held on a DUI warrant, Pasadena Police said. County booking information for Cedillo was not yet available. Witnesses saw the woman getting hit by a white vehicle in the area of Fair Oaks Avenue and Claremont Street around 7:20 p.m. The woman’s body was thrown underneath a parked vehicle, according to the Pasadena Police Department. The white vehicle reportedly fled northbound from the scene on Fair Oaks Avenue and should have major front end damage. The crash occurred around 3:02 a.m. at Colorado Boulevard and Wilson Avenue October 15. The driver of a black Dodge Charger allegedly ran a red light and struck a Honda Civic at high speed, according to the Pasadena Police Department. Buildings at the southwest corner of Colorado Boulevard and Wilson Avenue were damaged by flying debris. The Charger struck a wood pole as it came to rest on the west side of Wilson Avenue, Pasadena Police said. The driver of the Charger, a 26-year-old Pasadena woman, is believed to have been driving under the influence, Pasadena Police said. The driver of the Charger and the 43-year-old Pasadena woman driving the Civic received moderate injuries and are listed in stable condition. |
