Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Four suspects sought for an armed robbery in Beverly Hills were pursued around Rowland Heights and Walnut Thursday. Two suspects were apprehended after fleeing a red Hyundai Accent that deputies were attempting to stop in the area of Colima Road and Fairway Drive August 22 around 5:30 p.m. Walnut deputies, who patrol Rowland Heights, were alerted by Beverly Hills Police that the car was tracked to their area, the Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station said. Before deputies could stop the car, two suspects jumped out and ran, leaving the driver and one passenger in the vehicle, which fled to the 60 freeway where the pursuit encountered heavy traffic.
Back on surface streets, the driver crashed the car on Valley Boulevard, heavily disabling it, but he continued to elude deputies and Beverly Hills Police. The pursuit trickled to 10 to 20 miles per hour before the driver stopped in the area of Garcia Lane and Grand Avenue. The two remaining suspects were arrested without further incident. |
