Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - A suspect is in custody, his domestic abuse victim possibly severely injured at the scene of a pursuit termination Wednesday night. The chase began in South Gate Wednesday afternoon and wound through SoCal. The suspect could be seen hitting his female passenger who attempted to escape the vehicle while it was in motion several times. The chase entered Rowland Heights where the suspect fled the car and ran into 99 Cents Only Store, 19033 E. Colima Rd. California Highway Patrol officers ran after him and cuffed him.
Los Angeles County Firefighters accompanied by their battalion chief are on scene treating the woman. South Gate Police attempted to stop the suspect after they responded to a call of a man beating a woman inside the car. The suspect drove very erratically throughout the chase. He drove through a South Los Angeles Park where people were walking and sitting. He smashed through a chain link fence in the park. In the La Mirada area, the driver used the sidewalk to evade the CHP. |
