The vehicle, only described as a grey sedan, was being backed out of a driveway. The driver did not see the woman as she passed by on a sidewalk and ran over her, according to Sgt. Armando Perdomo of the California Highway Patrol Santa Fe Springs Office. The woman was struck in the 2400 block of Fullerton Road just before 8:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. Firefighters arrived and freed the 71-year-old woman pinned under the vehicle, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. The woman sustained possible moderate injuries, Perdomo said. The woman was taken by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. No arrests have been made. |
