Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VALINDA - A gunman unloaded a weapon near a vigil Sunday night held for a woman shot outside a home one day prior.
Witnesses reported that a gunman in a vehicle pulled up to the vigil outside of the 15500 block of Fellowship Street and fired as many as 10 rounds near or at the crowd. There was no one hit and deputies found no objects that were struck, according to Sgt. Torres of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. First responders were sent to the location around 9:19 p.m. Sunday, July 2. Felipe Juarez, identified as the operator of the memes page lapuente626sgv, erroneously stated a person was struck by gunfire. The Los Angeles County Fire Department stated that their response to a possible gunshot victim was canceled before engines even arrived on scene. Roughly 15 minutes later, deputies located a vehicle believed tied to the July 2 shooting at Hacienda Boulevard and Francisquito Avenue and detained both occupants, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. At least one of the people was arrested, but Torres did not immediately know the status of the person who was taken into custody. A woman was shot outside of a residence in the 15500 block of Fellowship Street Saturday, July 1 just before 7 a.m. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. |
