LA HABRA HEIGHTS – A resident opened fire on a burglary suspect who entered a home Monday night.
The suspect forced his way in through the front door and confronted a resident who was armed. The homeowner fired at the suspect, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
The incident occurred in the 900 block of Dorothea Road May 10.
In an interview with SGV CityWatch, Long said the suspect was possibly uninjured. Bullet fragments were collected at the scene. He did not yet know if blood was found as well.
The suspect is described as a heavyset Hispanic man, 30 to 35 years old. He wore a white shirt and dark pants. He fled in a white single-cab pickup truck, which was possibly a Dodge or Toyota Tundra, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime broadcast.
