Deputies were called to Los Angeles County Fire Station 43, 921 S. Stimson Ave., around 4:16 p.m. The man was taken to an area hospital and refused to cooperate with deputies, according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies were unable to obtain a suspect or vehicle description or how the man wound up with a gunshot wound. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Deputies are investigating a robbery in which three men clad in masks robbed their victim outside a business early Friday morning. The three suspects used physical force to rob their victim of a wallet and some keys in 15500 block of Salt Lake Avenue in the City of Industry just before 6 a.m., according to Lt. Chris Garcia of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s industry Station.
The suspects approached their victim in the parking lot of a business on Salt Lake Avenue, Garcia said. In addition to the ski masks, the suspects wore all dark clothing, Garcia said. Firefighters treated the victim at the scene for undisclosed injuries. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A transient was booked on suspicion of arson of property Sunday after allegedly burning an American flag at a roadside memorial. Scott Kennard, 41, was spotted by a California Highway Patrol officer, and displayed what was deemed as out-of-place behavior as Kennard loitered at Valley Boulevard and Turnbull Canyon Road. “The CHP Officer saw the suspect grab the American Flag and shield it with his hand. Immediately, flames were seen erupting from the flag,” according to Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The flag could not be saved as it was consumed by flames. A new flag, however, was placed at the memorial. Kennard is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Deputies arrested a man Sunday morning accused of burning a flag at a roadside memorial. The as-of-yet unidentified suspect allegedly torched the American flag at the David Marin Romero memorial plaque at Valley Boulevard and Turnbull Canyon Road May 12. The suspect torched the flag around 10:10 a.m. and was detained by deputies within minutes. A passerby witnessed the alleged arson and called deputies. The suspect walked away from the scene on Valley Boulevard before being detained, according to Lt. Marquez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
Marquez did not yet know a motive for the arson. The plaque and flag honor fallen CHP Santa Fe Springs motor officer David Marin Romero, who was cut down in the line of duty Friday September 23, 2005. Romero was stopped at a red light on northbound Turnbull Canyon Road, prepared to turn left onto Valley Boulevard when he was hit from behind by a DUI driver at nearly 60 miles per hour. Romero and his motorcycle were ejected across the intersection. Romero died at County/USC Medical Center after being flown for treatment. A male and female were involved in the successful robbery and attempted carjacking. The victim was approached from behind and struck with the gun. An iPhone8 and a set of keys were taken from inside the victim’s vehicle at Valley Boulevard and Fullerton Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. April 28.
The male suspect is in his 20s to 30s and is described as Hispanic, stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, wears black hair and wore a dark long-sleeve shirt. The female suspect is in her 20s to 30s and is described as Black. She wore a black headband. The suspects fled south on Fullerton Road in a grey or off-color gold SUV. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Four suspects escaped on the 605 freeway northbound after robbing a 7-Eleven Thursday morning. The robbery occurred at 7-Eleven, 2600 Pellessier Pl., before 1 a.m April 4. At least one suspect was armed with a stainless steel handgun, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspects fled in a white 2006 Dodge Ram truck, but not before the armed suspect brandished a weapon at a second victim, deputies said.
All four suspects were described as men between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall. They wore dark ski masks and dark clothing. The robbery occurred just before 10 a.m. at Hambeldon Avenue and Valley Boulevard. The suspects took the red iPhone in a clear case by force and fled on foot, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspects fled north on Hambeldon Avenue, east on Hurley Street and out of view.
The suspects are Black men in their 20s, about 6 feet tall, have thin builds and wore afros. One suspect wore a green hooded sweatshirt. The second wore a red shirt and dark pants. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - Two suspects entered a business and took cash at gunpoint Monday morning, deputies said. The robbery occurred at Diamond Family Spa, 1140 Coiner Ct., around 10:40 a.m. One of the suspects was armed with a chrome semi-automatic handgun, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspects fled with an estimated $1,000 in cash.
Both men were described as Hispanic. One wore a red shirt, the other wore a dark blue shirt. Both men wore blue jeans. They fled in a white sedan, possibly a Honda Accord, towards Gale Avenue, deputies said. Deputies are setting a containment search for a student who may be armed on campus. Deputies were initially called to assist for a disturbance involving the student, according to Sheriff’s radio traffic.
An anonymous tip was sent to Hacienda-La Puente School Police regarding the possibly-armed student, according to the Sheriff's Industry Station. Field supervisors for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station are unavailable for comment. No other information is available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor INDUSTRY - A suspect received minor injuries after crashing during a brief chase, a Sheriff’s sergeant said Tuesday. The unidentified suspect briefly fled deputies after they tried to pull him over on Valley Boulevard just before 5 a.m. January 29, according to Sgt. Brady Kline of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The suspect fled southbound towards the 60 freeway where the stolen vehicle crashed into a pole on 7th Avenue, Klein said.
The stolen vehicle was recovered, Klein said. CHP officers responded to take a report on the collision aspect of the pursuit, according to Officer Peter Nicholson of the California Highway Patrol. The suspect’s booking information was not yet available. |
