She was last seen by her father around 5:30 p.m., according to Deputy Joanna Warren of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The girl is Hispanic and was last seen wearing. blue sweater, blue pants and was seen with a skateboard, Warren told SGV CityWatch. It was not yet clear what area of Santa Fe Dam she was last seen at. Deputies from surrounding stations are searching with the aid of a helicopter. The driver of the wrong way vehicle struck the semi around 10:48 p.m. The victim died at the scene and is still trapped inside the vehicle which is pinned under the semi truck, according to the California Highway Patrol. All southbound freeway lanes north of Ramona Boulevard will remain closed until possibly 2 a.m., the CHP said. The fire is burning in medium to heavy vegetation with winds blowing from the north. No structures are threatened, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A full brush fire response is being requested, sans aircraft. A similar brush fire burned inside Santa Fe Dam Recreational Area Saturday, May 16 and burned roughly one acre, initially believed to have started in a transient camp. Firefighters have stopped forward progress of the flames. No other information is available. The crash occurred in westbound lanes of East Live Oak Avenue at Stewart Avenue around 12:49 p.m. One person was declared dead on arrival, according to Marvin Lim, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Live Oak Avenue between Baldwin Park Boulevard and Commerce Drive remains closed during an investigation, according to the Irwindale Police Department. The fire has burned at least two acres in the riverbed south of Live Oak Avenue west of the 605 freeway. Firefighters have hoses on both flanks of the blaze, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire is burning all on locally-controlled land. The fire has the potential to burn five to seven acres. A conveyor belt is burning in a 100-foot-long tunnel below grade at the facility in the 2600 block of Avenida Barbosa, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire is at the smoldering stage and firefighters are getting a handle on it. The address returns to Blue Diamond Materials, which produces hot mix asphalt. Firefighters were dispatched at 12:19 a.m. and arrived two minutes later to Santa Fe Dam, 15501 Irwindale Ave. Firefighters on scene did not provide a size-up of how large the fire was, but had forward progress stopped at 12:39 p.m., according to a representative of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No one was injured and no structures were threatened, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said. A Sig Alert was issued for two hours for the HOV, No. 1, 3 and 4 lanes of traffic. A semi hauling a trailer of garbage collided with what was described as a box truck just before 1:30 p.m. The box truck reportedly overturned, according to the California Highway Patrol. Crews are on scene to upright the box truck and tow away the trailer from the heavily damaged semi. The Los Angeles County Fire Department requested a helicopter to transport an unknown number of patients, but a ground ambulance has been summoned instead. |
