One man with a handgun, another with what was described as a rifle, robbed their victim of a wallet containing cash, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. It was unclear if the guns were replica or real.
One 20-something suspect, described as wearing a black shirt and green cargo pants, escaped in a white vehicle. The second suspect, described as in his 20s and wearing dark clothing, fled in a black vehicle. Deputies have just ended a neighborhood search in the area of Klingerman Street and Continental Avenue around 11:50 p.m. A search of at least one residential property yielded no suspects after the resident reported seeing someone run into their yard.
At least two were wounded by gunfire around 10:40 p.m. Preliminary information suggests that the victims were juveniles, according to Deputy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies were en route to a “check the welfare call” when the gunfire erupted, Koerner said. A passerby flagged down a deputy to report gunfire erupting nearby, according to Sheriff's radio traffic. The victims’ conditions were not readily available. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 10:41 p.m. Firefighters waited four minutes to be cleared in, after which they were told that the victims were transported by a private party, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. SOUTH EL MONTE - Two men stole a driver’s silver 2011 four-door Honda CRV at gunpoint Friday night, a Sheriff’s sergeant said. Two suspects, described as adult male Hispanics, took the driver’s car at gunpoint at 2650 Rosemead Blvd. near the Thuan Fat Supermarket, according to Sgt. Durante of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The victim, who was carjacked around 7:10 p.m., was uninjured. The suspects, described as being in their 20s, fled eastbound on Garvey Avenue. The checkpoint will operate in an undisclosed area of town from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday, September 8. Authorities want to reiterate to drivers that “DUI doesn’t just mean booze.” California has seen an increase in drug-impaired crashes, resulting from marijuana and prescription drug usage. Specially-trained deputies will examine drivers suspected of being impaired. Deputies have surrounded an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Central Avenue and are attempting to gain entry in the apartment unit where they believe gunfire came from, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. As deputies attempted to enter the property, about six to seven gunshots rang out from a unit on the top level. A deputy reported seeing a large amount of smoke from the unit, possibly caused by the gunfire itself. Deputies knocked on the front door of the unit in question, but no answer was heard. The driver of the semi was stopped at the metered light on the southbound Rosemead Boulevard on ramp to the eastbound 60 freeway around 6:30 p.m. Monday. Two men in a vehicle stopped ahead of them exited and approached the driver, according to Gina Jojola, public information officer for the East Los Angeles CHP Office. At least one of the suspects was armed, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The men failed to take anything and fled the scene, Jojola said. Suspect descriptions were not readily available. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is investigating the attempted robbery. The woman’s body was found just before 5 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The woman was found in lanes of Rosemead Boulevard South of Rush Street. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station arrived and summoned the California Highway Patrol to investigate. The CHP determined a hit and run collision occurred, according to the California Highway Patrol in a written statement. The victim, a Hispanic woman in her 30s or 40s, remains unidentified. She may be a transient, the CHP said. There is no suspect or vehicle description. Anyone with information on a suspect or who may have witnessed the crash is urged to call the California Highway Patrol and speak with Officer M. Sencion or Officer I. Villareal at 323-980-4600. The crime was reported just after 2:30 p.m. at 1603 S. Santa Anita Avenue. The suspect attacked employees with the pepper spray before fleeing with the scratchers, according to Lt. Chris Kusayanagi of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The business robbed is Driftwood Market. Kusayanagi did not know how many employees were attacked. He didn’t believe any of the employees were hospitalized. Deputies could not obtain a good description of the suspect, because the employees’ vision was compromised. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station responded to the 2600 block of Rosemead Boulevard responded to calls around 8:41 a.m. of a man with a bloody face and wielding a knife. The man was attempting to enter passing vehicles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The man fled into a nearby trailer park when deputies arrived. Deputies ordered the man to drop his knife, but he refused and held it over his head. he began advancing aggressively towards deputies and told them to shoot him, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. The man was struck twice by gunfire. No deputies were injured and the knife was recovered at the scene. The shooting occurred at Shell, 1130 Peck Rd., around 1:46 a.m. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition was listed as grave and he is not expected to survive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. A suspect description and motive were not available. |
