The fire burned in the 700 block of North Broadmoor Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Both victims were described as a white man and woman. Both victims were found dead at the scene, according to Deputy Eric Ortiz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. It was unclear if there was anyone else injured in the fire. Firefighters were in contact with arson investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, according to West Covina Fire Department radio traffic. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating. The crash took place around 9 a.m. at East Valley Boulevard and South Sentous Avenue February 11. A driver ran a red light and hit the patrol SUV that was waiting for a green light, according to Lieutenant Adler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. No one was injured, Adler said. Adler did not believe initially that alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. Jonas Elijah Nelson, 19, was last seen January 20, 2019 in the 200 block of East Sacramento Street in Altadena. Sheriff’s detectives received information that Nelson may be in the city of West Covina, the West Covina Police Department announced via social media. Nelson is 6 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants and an orange hooded sweatshirt with silver reflective accents. He suffers from schizophrenia, is bipolar and suffers from catatonia disorder, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The 22-year-old suspect, on parole for carjacking, refused to yield for police who tried stop him for driving without license plates near Glendora Avenue and Michelle Street around 2:36 a.m. November 7, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. The chase lasted around five minutes until the suspect entered a cul de sac on Russelee Drive north of Vine Avenue where the suspect hit a parked vehicle. “The suspect collided into a parked vehicle, then drove in reverse toward the officers, striking the patrol vehicle, at which time an officer involved shooting occurred,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
No officers were injured. The white sedan driven by the suspect is a confirmed stolen vehicle, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. A handgun allegedly carried by the suspect was recovered at the scene. The driver evaded Industry deputies into West Covina just after 10 p.m. The pursuit continued slowly onto Lakes Drive from Vincent Avenue. The driver stopped briefly and appeared to be giving up, but continued to drive until he finally surrendered near Regal Edwards Theater. The suspect finally surrendered without further incident. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor WEST COVINA - The suspect accused of a fatal shooting in Baldwin Park June 28 was arrested Tuesday, Sheriff’s homicide detectives said. Gregory Thomas Kingsbury, 37, was found and arrested at a West Covina home July 2. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and is scheduled for an appearance in Pomona Superior Court July 5. Kingsbury is accused of pulling the trigger on his still publicly unidentified brother in the 14600 block of Demblon Street. Baldwin Park Police officers found the injured man. He later died at a hospital.
Kingsbury fled in a grey 2012 Nissan Altima which was found abandoned and later recovered. A motive for the killing is either unknown or has not been publicly provided. The unnamed suspects are believed to be involved in the murder of La Mirada man Dennis Bracamonte at a house party Friday, May 31 in the 300 block of North Hollow Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. A fight erupted prior to the arrival of police. Officers found three victims in a rear yard. Bracamonte was declared dead at the scene. Two male juveniles received gunshot wounds to their legs, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
A female juvenile wound up at a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Earlier, There was confusion on the part of Investigator Robert Fierro from the Coroner this morning regarding the death identification in West Covina. There has been no victim identified yet and Coroner investigators have yet to arrive on scene in West Covina.
