The minutes-long chase ended after the driver gave officers the fade in San Gabriel in the 800 block of Valley Boulevard. The vehicle was located and San Gabriel Police officers ran after a male suspect who tried to elude police again, according to the San Marino Police Department. An automated license plate reader notified officers of the carjacked vehicle near San Gabriel Boulevard and California Boulevard just after 9 a.m. March 16. The vehicle, taken from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station patrol area a day prior, was located and stopped near Hermosa Avenue and San Gabriel Boulevard. The driver took off in the vehicle, according to the San Marino Police Department. An eye witness saw two suspects run after the chase ended. “An eyewitness reported seeing a male subject in a white shirt and a female subject in a white shirt exit the vehicle and run west through the rear parking lot and over a wall,” according to the San Marino Police Department in a written statement. The female suspect is still at-large. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO – Two suspects were arrested June 1, and one is possibly at-large, after a burglary occurred at a home, according to the San Marino Police Department.
A resident witnessed as many as three masked suspects exit his property, which is adjacent to a burglarized home in the 1700 block of Sharon Place just after 2 p.m. June 1. Officers arrived, conducted a containment search, but found nothing except a smashed window, according to the San Marino Police Department. “At this time, a vehicle was observed leaving the immediate area at a high rate of speed. Detectives attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle. The vehicle stopped and continued and a pursuit was ensued,” according to the San Marino Police Department in a written statement. Two suspects in the vehicle fled once it stopped after crashing into a stop sign at Roses Road and Segovia Avenue in San Gabriel. The driver was immediately taken into custody. A second suspect was believed to have fled east. During a containment search, a resident in the 400 block of Segovia reported a man hiding in his rear yard. With help from a Pasadena Police K9, Pasadena Police helicopter, Alhambra Police, Monterey Park Police, San Gabriel Police and South Pasadena Police, the suspect was taken into custody. Both suspects were not publicly identified. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO – A driver who was on active probation for felony evading and who led San Marino officers on a chase and brief standoff is expected to appear in court February 17.
Mary Arias was allegedly behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle when officers were notified by an Automated License Plate Reader just after 7:30 p.m. February 13. Arias allegedly fled from a traffic stop and led police on a chase, according to the San Marino Police Department. The 2014 blue Jeep Patriot was driven through nearby cities, such as San Gabriel, Alhambra, Monterey Park and Montebello where Arias stopped at Beverly Hospital and refused to exit the vehicle, San Marino Police said. Arias stopped outside the emergency room. “A short standoff ensued as the driver refused to exit her vehicle. Officers were able to convince the driver to voluntarily surrender and she was taken into custody without incident,” San Marino Police said in a written statement. During a search of the stolen Jeep, officers reportedly found drug paraphernalia, possible stolen mail and identification belonging to another person. Arias is expected to appear in Alhambra Municipal Court. She is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility is lieu of $175,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County booking records.
