Joshua Domasin, 38, is accused of breaking into a business in the 1300 block of Huntington Drive. Officers were called to the scene around 3:43 a.m. and found a suspect inside, according to the Pasadena Police Department. “Domasin fled out of the building upon seeing the officers and was captured moments later. Additional officers and a canine from the San Marino and Monterey Park Police Departments assisted during the search,” according to the Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. Domasin was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary. He was issued a citation and released and is expected to appear at Alhambra Municipal Court May 26. After being arrested, Domasin was arrested by Los Angeles Police Officers from the North Hollywood Division January 29 for a felony-level crime. He is being held without bail. Officers conducting a burglary suppression operation saw a suspicious vehicle in the 800 block of Meridian Avenue just after 6 a.m. Two occupants were contacted by officers and as one of the men exited the vehicle, an item of “evidentiary value” fell to the ground, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. What that item was, police have not described. After further investigation, officers located narcotics and tools commonly used in catalytic converter thefts, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Los Angeles men Marcelo Ramirez, 30, and Victor Trujillo-Cruz, 28, were booked on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and possession of narcotics. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - A homeowner confronted an intruder inside a home December 5, police said. The homeowner spotted the suspect after the latter entered the residence in the 200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. Police were called around 8 a.m. after the homeowner fled to a neighbor, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Aided by San Marino officers, South Pasadena Police entered the home and found 31-year-old Samuel Ramos inside. He was quickly arrested, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.
“Further investigation revealed that Ramos had broken into another residence just before this incident,” South Pasadena Police said in a written statement. Ramos is being held in lieu of 50,000 bail in the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles ahead of a scheduled appearance in Alhambra Municipal Court Tuesday, December 8. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - Witnesses helped identify a burglary suspect who smashed his way into a business before being chased off last week, police said. Cristian Contreras, 22, is accused of smashing a window to a business in the 1000 block of Mission Street around 11:45 p.m. September 18. Contreras allegedly rummaged through the business before leaving. Several witnesses chased him away, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Officers located Contreras walking in the 300 block of Monterey Road and detained him. Witnesses to the burglary identified him as the burglary suspect, South Pasadena Police said. Contreras, a Baldwin Park man, was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA – Two burglary suspects were arrested July 13 after police discovered items believed stolen from 35 storage units. An officer saw items believed to be stolen inside a vehicle during a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Monterey Road around 3:12 a.m. Further investigation led police to a storage business in the 900 block of Mission Street where the units were burglarized, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.
Arrested were 24-year-old Inglewood resident Kevin Ruada and 25-year-old Melvin Gomez of Lennox. Both were booked on suspicion of burglary. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH PASADENA - A Highland Park man was jailed Friday after fleeing through yards to avoid capture for allegedly burglarizing a series of vehicles, police said. David Aguilar, 35, was reportedly seen trying to open vehicle doors in the 1500 block of Rollin Street around 6:30 a.m. June 5. As police responded, other residents called to report their vehicles were burglarized, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Officers located a man in the 1700 block of Marengo Avenue matching the description provided by at least one of the victims. The man then fled on foot through some residential yards and hopped fences to avoid officers, South Pasadena Police Department said. A perimeter search helped officers find and arrest Aguilar around 8:10 a.m.
In addition to being accused of burglarizing at least 10 vehicles, Aguilar was allegedly in possession of a stolen truck taken from Los Angeles. He also reportedly confessed to committing several crimes in March 2020. “Three of the crimes he allegedly committed in March were the thefts of two vehicles and the burglary of a business in the 200 block of Monterey Road,” South Pasadena Police Department said in a written statement. Aguilar was jailed and held without bail and an outstanding warrant from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and was placed on a parole hold. |
