Police officers and paramedics attempted to save the man, but he passed away at the scene in the 1600 block of South Meridian Avenue December 16. First responders were called at 7:51 p.m., according to the South Pasadena Police Department. “During the investigation, several items of evidentiary value were located. Given the nature and scope of the investigation, the South Pasadena Police Department is working in conjunction with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department,” according to the South Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. In that same statement, the South Pasadena Police Department described the unconscious male suffering from “medical distress,” but did not elaborate further. This reporter heard the response to the home on South Meridian and heard that the victim suffered a large laceration to his head. It is not yet publicly clear what led to the man’s death. The collision happened July 27 at Marengo Avenue and Maple Street just before 8:30 p.m. The driver of the white Toyota Sienna truck was north on Marengo when he allegedly ran the stop sign and hit the pedestrians, according to the South Pasadena Police Department. The three pedestrians were taken to a hospital where the still-unidentified man was eventually pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota Sienna remained at the scene. “At this time, it remains unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision,” according to the South Pasadena Police Department in a written statement. Bayron Salguero, 30, died Saturday of complications due to contracting Coronavirus. Salguero completed a dispatch training program and was scheduled to begin his shift next week, according to the Pasadena Police Department. “Though he was with us for only a short time, he quickly became a part of our family. He had a great attitude and was admired by everyone for his work ethic and willingness to learn,” according to the South Pasadena Police Department. Justin Goss, 40, was identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The scene unfolded inside a home in the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive November 28 just before 10 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a broken front window and screaming inside the home. Upon entering through the window, they found a man stabbed and beaten, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “Under further investigation it was determined that the male adult broke into the residence and attacked his estranged girlfriend. While the suspect was in the processes of beating and choking the female victim, her mother and adult sister came to her aid,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Police initially had trouble locating the residence through the phone call, believing the call was coming from a residence on nearby Grand Avenue. Pasadena Police also received a call, this one from the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive, according to South Pasadena Police radio traffic. The caller told dispatchers that someone was trying to kill her daughter. After officers arrived, they announced the suspect was detained. Medics were summoned for the suspect’s stab wound to an arm. After paramedics arrived, a South Pasadena officer said the suspect was deceased. The estranged girlfriend was briefly hospitalized for facial injuries. The stabbing death of a man occurred in the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive just before 10 a.m. November 28. The man was declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. A call of a possible intruder occurred in the 500 block of Five Oaks Drive. Dispatchers received a call from a woman needing help for a relative. The call eventually turned into someone trying to attack the occupants inside, according to South Pasadena Police radio traffic. Officers arrived and found a front window to a home was smashed. Officers earlier claimed a suspect with an arm injury was detained. Soon after, calls to Sheriff’s Homicide detectives were made. At least one person was hospitalized, according to South Pasadena Police radio traffic. Police initially responded to a medical emergency call on the platform, 905 Meridian Ave., September 6 around 6 p.m. A man was reportedly screaming for help, prompting a call to police, according to Sgt. Jim Valencia of the South Pasadena Police Department. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
The victim, only described as a Black woman possibly in her 50s, has yet to be identified, pending notification of family, according to Investigator Nani Cholakians of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Edward Ng was discovered in a bathroom at 1500 San Pablo Street Friday morning. Ng was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The property houses Keck Hospital of USC and Fresenius Medical Care at La County And Usc - Apheresis. A cause of death has not been determined. The Los Angeles Police Department does not suspect foul play in Ng’s death. Ng was last seen at his home around 1 p.m. December 13. He may have taken a ride share service to the County USC/Medical Center area, South Pasadena Police said. The cell phone Ng carried was likely tuned off, South Pasadena Police said. Ng required medical attention, but investigators did not specify his medical needs.
