Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - Four handguns and ammunition were seized March 13 after deputies arrested a man accused of committing assault with a deadly weapon and other felony charges stemming from a shooting.
Deputies were called to the 3000 block of Garvey Avenue on a report of gunfire heard inside of a residence around 2:30 p.m. The property was surrounded and the suspect emerged and was taken into custody, according to Sgt. Liu of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. Inside the residence, multiple bullet holes were found throughout the property, Liu told SGV CityWatch. The suspect was only described as being in his 60s. No one was injured, Liu told SGV CityWatch. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN GABRIEL - At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck reportedly involving a semi on the westbound 60 freeway near San Gabriel Boulevard early Friday morning.
All westbound lanes of the 60 freeway at San Gabriel Boulevard remain closed until further notice. All traffic is being diverted off at Rosemead Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station responded to the 7400 block of Garvalia Avenue in Rosemead to a person down call around 9:30 p.m. and found the man laying in the street, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The man, only described as being Latino, died at the hospital. Initially, homicide detectives were either told, or have evidence that the man was possibly shot - a detail excluded from their latest statement.
