Firefighters were dispatched at 8 a.m. to that location for an EMS call. The Los Angeles County Fire Department could not elaborate further on the type of call. Firefighters were dispatched to the 3100 block of Charlotte Avenue Tuesday, February 14 at 2:01 p.m. to a fire in the rear of a single-story duplex. The fire was knocked down at 2:33 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. A County Fire dispatch supervisor had very few details about the patient, only stating that the male was being worked on by paramedics at the scene. The call was dispatched to firefighters around 3:51 a.m. in the 2400 block of Gladys Avenue. Flames were seen coming from the detached garage. The fire was extinguished around 4:18 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Arson investigators were sent to determine the cause. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - One person was hospitalized Sunday with smoke inhalation after being found inside a burning restaurant. Deputies arrived to a possible burglary at a restaurant in the 8700 block of East Valley Boulevard in Rosemead just after 2 a.m. October 6 and discovered a broken window to the building. A person was seen inside, said Lt. Kusayanagi of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. The person was still being medically cleared as of 12:44 p.m., many hours after being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. While deputies believe the person was committing a crime, a motive is still unknown, Kusayanagi said. Arriving deputies could not gain access to the building after discovering a gate was likely chained or locked after the suspect went inside, Kusayanagi said.
Firefighters, dispatched at 2:44 a.m., were unable at first to enter and fight the flames until the suspect was detained. Once the suspect was secured, firefighters knocked the flames down by 3:27 a.m. There is much smoke damage inside the restaurant, making it difficult to determine what the suspect was doing inside, Kusayanagi said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - A teen is reportedly threatening to jump from a bridge onto the 60 freeway Saturday night. Authorities have all eastbound and westbound lanes stopped. A mental evaluation team from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is en route via helicopter to assist in helping the teen surrender. The teen is standing on the San Gabriel Boulevard overpass, according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the CHP.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the San Gabriel Boulevard overpass just after 6 p.m. August 17 to a report of a pedestrian climbing the fence to the overpass. Drivers stopped and attempted to prevent the teen from climbing over, according to the CHP. The teen is reportedly refusing to speak with a male officer and wants only to speak with a woman, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. Sheriff’s deputies with the Temple Station, CHP officers, Los Angeles County firefighters and Montebello Police are on scene. The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. February 28 in a two-story condo at 8304 Rush St. Firefighters kept flames contained to the unit of origin. After a search, the body was found, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Deputies responded to a home in the 1600 block of Delta Avenue after 5 p.m. to the shooting call. Los Angeles County Firefighters treated the officer on scene and transported him to County/USC Medical Center for further treatment, said Sgt. Curt Messerschmidt of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Temple Station. Messerschmidt did not have the details of why the gun was accidentally discharged inside the home. It is unclear if anyone else was inside the home at the time. The fire tore through the home in the 1200 block of North Lawrence Avenue around 2:43 p.m. The fire burned near the Monterey Health and Wellness Centre, 1267 N. San Gabriel Blvd., forcing the evacuation of 73 people inside the care center, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials. No one was injured. Two residents in the home were evacuated by deputies, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Temple Station. While the Temple Station initially reported one dog was also evacuated, firefighters on scene requested animal control for a group of 15 cats and dogs roaming into and out of the home as firefighters were still working after flames were knocked down, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. Monterey Health and Wellness Centre, 1267 N. San Gabriel Blvd. is undergoing evacuations. A one-story home, in the 1200 block of Lawrence Avenue, behind the hospital is the structure on fire, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic. The fire is extensive throughout the home due to pack rat condition, firefighters reported. There is no threat to the hospital. It is unclear if any injuries have been reported. |
