Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SAN MARINO - Vigilant residents helped identify two suspects who lifted packages from their homes Thursday. The suspects, 25-year-old Emily Veliz and 24-year-old Maria Pule, both from Lynwood, were arrested by officers searching for package thieves accused of taking property from two San Marino homes February 7. A resident provided suspect and vehicle descriptions captured through her iRing security camera in the 2300 block of Ridgeway Road after the suspects were witnessed stealing form the home around 12:49 p.m., San Marino Police said. During the search, a resident in the 2100 block of Adair Street reported similar suspects in a similar vehicle taking a package, San Marin Police said. Officers located a suspect vehicle at 2:10 p.m. at California Boulevard and Winston Avenue. “A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the two occupants were contacted. During the investigation, San Marino Police Officers were able to identify stolen property that was positively identified by numerous victims in San Marino,” San Marino Police said. The vehicle the suspects were in was also reported stolen. Both suspects were booked on suspicion of theft, possession of stolen property, providing false information to an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia, San Marino Police said. |
