The arrests were made mere days after the May 14 robbery attempt at Cigarettes 4 Less Tobacco Shop, 2112 W. Whittier Blvd., around 2 p.m.The smoke shop owner was also armed and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, ultimately injuring one of them. The three suspects, and a getaway driver who is still outstanding, fled after the shooting and drove west on Whittier Boulevard in a light blue Chrysler 300 sedan. The smoke shop owner was hospitalized, underwent surgery and is recovering from his injuries, Montebello Police said in a written statement. With information gathered from social media and with help from news outlets, detectives developed leads which led them to Long Beach where a search warrant was served, Montebello Police said. Craig Hill, 18, was taken into custody May 18. He is being held without bail, according to Los Angeles County booking information. Rodderick Reddix, 20, was arrested May 20. He is being held in lieu of $1.83 mullion bail. A 17-year-old boy was also located and arrested. Because the teen is a minor, booking information is unavailable. MONTEBELLO - Police are looking for information leading to the person or persons responsible for the shooting death of a man found shot near a playground April 21. Randall Fletcher, 22, was found with a gunshot wound to the back of head, down on the grass near the playground at Ashiya Park, 2700 W. Beverly Blvd., around 4:30 p.m. Fletcher was hospitalized, but later succumbed to his injuries. It is unclear if detectives have any suspect information. The victim was shot once in the torso and once in the leg during the robbery at Cigarettes 4 Less Tobacco Shop, 2112 W. Whittier Blvd., around 2 p.m. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and later hospitalized, Montebello Police said. The victim’s current condition is unknown. Three Black men entered the store and attempted to rob their victim, who was identified by ABC7 news as the shop’s owner. The suspects possibly fled into a light-colored sedan and drove off west on Whittier Boulevard, Montebello Police said. The three suspects are possibly in their 20s and wore dark clothing.
