Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor AVOCADO HEIGHTS - Crews continue to remove debris from the scene of a crash after a big rig landed on the center divider of the 60 freeway east of the 605 Friday. Four other vehicles were hit by the 24-ton big rig before it crashed on the center divider around 3:36 a.m. May 3. Debris was sent into both eastbound and westbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The eastbound No. 5 lane is open to traffic. All other eastbound lanes remain closed for an unknown duration, the CHP said. Both sides of the 60 freeway were closed briefly while Caltrans crews worked to remove chunks of concrete spewed across lanes from the crash. |
