Written by AARON CASTREJON CItyWatch Editor AVOCADO HEIGHTS - One person was transported by a helicopter to an area trauma center Monday after a semi rolled down an embankment and crashed. The collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. on the northbound 605 freeway trans road to the eastbound 60 freeway August 26. The semi hauling a trailer suffered major front end damage, an occupant became trapped, according to the California Highway Patrol. Firefighters requested heavy machinery to free the trapped patient.
The CHP issued a full closure of the affected trans road, a closure that is set to end possibly just before 7 p.m. The patient was freed and a helicopter landed nearby to pick up the patient. |
