A 33-year-old victim was found dead by deputies responding to a gunshot victim call in the 15300 block of Manzanita Drive just after 1:33 a.m. September 9. Two women in their 20s were shot at -- one sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso, the other sustained injures not directly from gunfire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. All three victims were believed to be leaving a party from nearby in the 1700 block of Vallecito Drive A suspect or suspects tied to a dark-colored vehicle opened fire on the victims, investigators said.

The drowning was reported at a residence in the 3200 block of Leticia Drive around 7:47 p.m. July 27. The child was transported by ground to a hospital where the child was pronounced dead, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station.
It was not specified how long the child was possibly in the water before being found. “It’s a tragedy,” Long told SGV CityWatch. “We’re on scene and waiting for our Homicide to respond.” Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - A fatality is being investigated after a train collided with a pickup truck Sunday afternoon, the CHP said. The crash occurred at Turnbull Canyon Road and Salt Lake Avenue. Officer Moises Marroquin of the California Highway Patrol Traffic Management Center confirmed the crash resulted in a death.
The collision was reported around 12:30 p.m. Authorities may be preparing for a hard closure of nearby roads during the investigation. Firefighters were called to Azusa Avenue and Colima Road at 11:05 a.m. Firefighters arrived at 11:10 a.m. and later confirmed a person dead on arrival, according to Brian Stevens of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Once at Azusa Avenue and Colima Road, firefighters were led in by workers who opened a gate to allow access, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department radio traffic.
It is unclear how the person died, or how long the body may have been there before being discovered. A supervisor with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Park Bureau was unavailable to answer questions. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - The family of a girl found dead, partially stuffed in a duffle bag near a Hacienda Heights trail have apparently come forward and identified her Sunday. The girl has been identified by family as 9-year-old Trinity Love Jones. Family members added items to an ever-growing memorial near where the girl was found in the 3600 block of Hacienda Boulevard near Glenmark Drive. Antonio Jones identified himself as Trinity’s father and told KTLA he wants answers and wants justice for his youngest daughter.
It is unclear if the father or any other member of her family publicly explained how the girl ended up missing and if her disappearance was ever reported to authorities. A security hold was placed on the deceased girl’s coroner case by law enforcement, according to Rudy Molano of the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Deputies have yet to publicly identify the girl, according to Deputy Koerner of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - A Black girl estimated at 7 to 10 years old was the person found dead alongside Hacienda Boulevard, homicide detectives said Tuesday. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau believe the girl was there for more than 24 hours. The body was discovered around 9:55 a.m. March 5 along Hacienda Boulevard and South Glenmark Drive in the dirt and bushes east of Hacienda. Firefighters responded to an initial call of a victim in full arrest.
The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. The body was discovered around 9:50 a.m., according to Sgt. Lopez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Initially reported as a woman, multiple news stations are reporting the victim is a young girl possibly discovered in a suitcase. The body was discovered in the area of Hacienda Boulevard and South Glenmark Drive. Firefighters were dispatched to the location initially for a victim in cardiac arrest, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched at 10:02 a.m. and arrived five minutes later. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau are on scene. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - A passenger was killed after the driver lost control and crashed on Turnbull Canyon Road Sunday.
The driver, 18-year-old Alexander Novoa, lost control of his 1992 Mazda Miata while negotiating a left curve on southbound Turnbull Canyon Road south of Skyline Drive and went down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Miata rolled over as it descended the embankment, trapping Novoa and 18-year-old Anthony Szeto, the CHP said. Novoa and Szeto were freed by Los Angeles County Firefighters. Szeto died at the scene. Novoa was flown by helicopter to County/USC Medical Center to be treated. Both men were wearing their seat belts. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, the CHP said. |
