Deputies were called to the 14400 block of Edgeridge Drive just before 6 a.m. September 25 to a reported person down and not breathing. The man was found suffering stab wounds, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The victim, only described as a Hispanic man 35 to 40 years old, was declared dead at the scene by Los Angeles County firefighters. Investigators state there is no suspect description at this time. The suspect fled in a newer-model gray Mercedes GLE. The SUV featured all tinted windows and a taped up gas cap. The suspects fled north on Hacienda Boulevard from the shopping center and out of view, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime broadcast. The attempted robbery occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday, August 19. The victim could only describe one suspect: a male black wearing a red beanie who brandished a black semi-automatic handgun, according to the crime broadcast. The make and value of the watch are not readily known. Reports for the attempted robbery may be available Monday morning, according to a supervisor at the Sheriff’s Industry Station. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS – Two CHP officers were briefly hospitalized July 25 after a semi hauling a tractor trailer sideswiped their patrol vehicle and the vehicle of a stranded motorist.
The collisions occurred on the westbound 60 freeway east of Hacienda Boulevard around 4:22 a.m. One of the officers was seated in the stranded motorist’s Nissan with the vehicle’s owner in a passenger seat. The other officer used his patrol vehicle to push the Nissan off the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. “The officers suffered minor injuries and were transported to Pomona Valley Hospital for evaluation and have both been released. The female passenger and the driver of tractor-trailer combination suffered no injuries and refused medical treatment,” according to the California Highway Patrol in a written statement. “A passenger in the tractor-trailer combination was also unharmed.” Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS – A Department of Homeland Security vehicle was reported stolen May 3 from a Hacienda Heights neighborhood.
The vehicle was reported stolen around 11 p.m. in the area of South Stimson Avenue and Colima Road, according to Sgt. Shawn Dubusky of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Dubusky declined to provide the type of vehicle reported stolen, or whether the vehicle contained any equipment. He did not know if the vehicle was left unlocked, or left running before it was reported stolen. “We’re just taking a stolen vehicle report and putting it into the system,” Dubusky told SGV CityWatch. An initial Sheriff’s radio broadcast described the vehicle as a Hyundai Sonata, silver in color, sporting emergency lights and it contained radios, a tactical helmet, ammunition and body armor. The man likely accidentally shot himself in the upper torso at his home in Hacienda Heights April 25. The man reportedly fled to Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 118 for medical assistance, according to Lt. Bernal of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies were called to investigate around 7 p.m. Deputies wrote and served a search warrant at the man’s home, unclear about the circumstances of the shooting, but then determined the shooting was likely negligent, Bernal told SGV CityWatch. The man’s current condition is not publicly known. The shooting took place in the 14400 block of Crystal Lantern Drive around 4:24 p.m. April 1. The suspect, only described as a male adult, was hospitalized. His condition was not disclosed. It is unclear if any deputies were injured. Prior to the shooting, deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station were in a vehicle pursuit, which terminated in the shooting. Deputies responded to a report of gunfire around 7:56 p.m. November 18 in the 200 block of Stimson Avenue. Within minutes, the victim stopped at a 7-Eleven at Gale Avenue and Stimson Avenue where deputies located her, according to Lt. Julie Geary of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies then located the shooting scene in the 1100 block of Charlemont Avenue in Hacienda Heights. The victim had a passenger in her vehicle, but that passenger was unhurt, Geary told SGV CityWatch. The unknown suspect fired from a moving white Toyota Camry and fled after the shooting, Geary told SGV CityWatch. The victim was hospitalized at a trauma center in Los Angeles. The suspects entered the home in the 3000 block of Cardillo Avenue Monday night and restrained the husband and wife by tying them up. Cash and jewelry were taken, according to Sgt. Leyva of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Initially it is believed roughly $10,000 was taken in the safe, but investigators are still determining the exact amount, Leyva told SGV CityWatch. The robbery occurred just after 8 p.m. November 1. The two men escaped the home through the same unlocked door in an unknown direction, Leyva told SGV CityWatch. Both suspects were initially described as Black men standing 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds, according the a Sheriff's crime broadcast. |
