Deputies responded to a home on Garo Street, called by Los Angeles County firefighters to reported shooting victims just after 8:30 p.m. January 3. The victims both claim they were fired upon at a liquor store near Gale Avenue and Hacienda Boulevard, according to Sheriff’s Industry Station Lt. Hugo Reynaga. One victim was shot in the left leg. His friend got away without any wounds, Reynaga said. “He said they heard two pops and one of the rounds struck his left leg and they both scattered,” Reynaga said. Both victims are not completely cooperating with deputies, Reynaga said. Both men fled to an address on Garo Street where they called paramedics, who in turn called deputies, Reynaga said. Firefighters arrived to the Garo Street home at 8:36 p.m. and transported one patient to a trauma center, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangel. There is no suspect description available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - The Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau is en route to assist with the peaceful surrender of a barricaded man Sunday. The man is barricaded in a home in the 2400 block of Punte del Este Drive after firing a gun at another neighbor during some type of argument, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. No one was injured in the shooting, which was first reported at 3:06 p.m.
The suspect was armed with a handgun, according to Sgt. Matthew Shackelford of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Neither the Sheriff’s Information Bureau, nor Shackelford knew definitely if evacuations have taken place. The victim was found by Industry deputies responding to calls of a shooting in the 16600 block of Carriage Place August 7 around 8:45 p.m. The man received wounds in one leg, as well as his buttocks and upper torso, said Lt. Hugo Reynaga of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, said Sgt. James Beaman of the Industry Sheriff’s Station. Ballistic evidence was also recovered at the scene. A suspect description was not available. |
