Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the CHP could not immediately confirm if any of the three victims injured in this incident were struck by gunfire. According to CBS2 news, a man died, while two teenage sons remain hospitalized. The suspect fled in either a gray Toyota Corolla or Toyota Camry, the CHP said. HACIENDA HEIGHTS - A Sig Alert continues for an unknown duration on the eastbound 60 freeway at 7th Avenue and on the transition roads from the 605 freeway after reports of gunfire erupted either before or after a collision Saturday. Three people were transported to an area trauma center for treatment, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is not quite clear if those three people were injured in the collision or if they were injured by gunfire. CHP officers were first called to the multi-vehicle collision on the eastbound 60 freeway at 12:28 p.m., according to Officer Elizabeth Kravig of the California Highway Patrol. The above mentioned lanes and transition roads to the East 60 freeway from the north and south 605 remain closed while officers canvassed the freeway looking for evidence of a shooting, Kravig told SGV CityWatch. The crossroads Parkway on ramp to the eastbound 60 freeway is also closed to traffic. Deputies responded to the fatal shooting around 11:42 p.m. May 16 in the 17100 block of Colima Road. The victim died at the scene. Deputies were reportedly responding to a burglary alarm call at the Hacienda Heights Community Center, 1234 Valencia Ave., around 10:13 p.m. when they discovered the victim of the shooting down on the west side of the property, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. The victim was struck by 9-millimeter rounds, possibly from a semi automatic handgun, according to a deputy at the scene. Sheriff’s homicide investigators only identified the victim as a male adult. Deputies described the man as being from an area street gang, but it is unclear how they identified him as such. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station responding to a gunfire call around 12:38 a.m. were soon told of a man down. Deputies found him laying on the side of the road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The man was found on Turnbull Canyon Road south of Northview Terrace.
The victim, only described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, died at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso. There is apparently no suspect information available. A 33-year-old victim was found dead by deputies responding to a gunshot victim call in the 15300 block of Manzanita Drive just after 1:33 a.m. September 9. Two women in their 20s were shot at -- one sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso, the other sustained injures not directly from gunfire, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. All three victims were believed to be leaving a party from nearby in the 1700 block of Vallecito Drive A suspect or suspects tied to a dark-colored vehicle opened fire on the victims, investigators said.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Vallecito Drive around 1:33 a.m. The unidentified man was declared dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Two of the victims were found near Armington Avenue and Garo Street. Sheriff’s dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call at 9:28 p.m. September 7. Deputies found 15 and 16-year-old teen boys, one shot in the chest, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A 17-year-old teen girl was transported by friends to a hospital and deputies were later notified, Long said. One teen was hit in a leg, one in the buttocks. Their conditions are not considered life-threatening. The teen shot in the chest may be in serious to critical condition, Long said.
The teens were at a party. Deputies reportedly found balloons and a nitrous oxide tank believed to be used for the recreational inhaling of nitrous oxide gas, Long said. Preliminarily, the incident may have centered around the nitrous oxide tank. Multiple rounds were fired from a suspect outside before he and three others escaped in a silver four-door sedan. Spent shell casings were recovered at the scene, Long said. The shooter was initially described to deputies as a Black or Hispanic male. The three others are described as Hispanic males. The sedan fled west to Stimson Avenue, Long said. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS – A man wound up at a hospital after being shot by an unknown suspect late Sunday. The shooting occurred in the area of Lujon Street and Pontenova Avenue January 6. Four men riding separately in two vehicles drove up to the man. One suspect exited a grey SUV and fired nine shots at the man, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The shooting took place around 11 p.m.
The man was struck by a bullet in his right foot, Long said. The vehicles, a grey Land Rover and black Nissan Altima, sped away from the area. There is no description for the suspects. The gunman wore a red shirt, Long said. |
