Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor HACIENDA HEIGHTS - A man was found wounded Friday night, the possible victim of gang violence.
Deputies were reportedly responding to a burglary alarm call at the Hacienda Heights Community Center, 1234 Valencia Ave., around 10:13 p.m. when they discovered the victim of the shooting down on the west side of the property, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. The victim was struck by 9-millimeter rounds, possibly from a semi automatic handgun, according to a deputy at the scene. Sheriff’s homicide investigators only identified the victim as a male adult. Deputies described the man as being from an area street gang, but it is unclear how they identified him as such. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
