Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Three suspects were jailed Friday after the victim they allegedly stole cash from during an Internet transaction took the keys from their vehicle. The robbery took place near Nogales Street and Colima Road. The suspects took the money from their victim during the Internet transaction and fled on foot to a nearby vehicle, according to Sgt. Canfield of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station. The robbery occurred just before 5:30 p.m. August 2. The victim located the suspects and was able to prevent them from driving away.
“The victim pulled the keys out of the suspect’s vehicle,” Canfield said. The amount of cash taken was not immediately known. Booking information was not available. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Two teens were arrested Friday night after a witness saw them kicking a victim on the ground at Pearl Plaza. The teens were found during a search of the parking structure at Pearl Plaza 18848 Labin Ct. At least one caller reported a fight in progress on top of the parking structure, according to Sgt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station.
One victim was located on top of the parking structure. A perimeter search was set up after the suspects scattered, Avila said. Avila didn’t know the extent of injuries to the victim, nor the victim’s age. The Asian teens arrested are between 15 and 17 years old. The search is taking place at and around a parking structure at Pearl Plaza, 18848 Labin Ct. in Rowland Heights. The suspects are described as male Asians, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic.
The extent of injuries and the weapon used were not immediately known. Walnut Station deputies are being assisted by Industry deputies and a police helicopter. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - A suspect is in custody, his domestic abuse victim possibly severely injured at the scene of a pursuit termination Wednesday night. The chase began in South Gate Wednesday afternoon and wound through SoCal. The suspect could be seen hitting his female passenger who attempted to escape the vehicle while it was in motion several times. The chase entered Rowland Heights where the suspect fled the car and ran into 99 Cents Only Store, 19033 E. Colima Rd. California Highway Patrol officers ran after him and cuffed him.
Los Angeles County Firefighters accompanied by their battalion chief are on scene treating the woman. South Gate Police attempted to stop the suspect after they responded to a call of a man beating a woman inside the car. The suspect drove very erratically throughout the chase. He drove through a South Los Angeles Park where people were walking and sitting. He smashed through a chain link fence in the park. In the La Mirada area, the driver used the sidewalk to evade the CHP. The robbery occurred in the 18000 block of Mescal Street around 8:30 p.m. February 19. The suspect used a black semi-automatic handgun during the crime, according to Sgt. Estep of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station. The victim was not injured.
The suspect, described as a Black man in his 20s in a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants, fled in a waiting white sedan, possibly an Audi A3 with tinted windows and paper plates. The robbery took place at the McDonald’s, 19775 Colima Rd., around 11:30 p.m. December 8. The suspect displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast. The suspect was described to deputies as a Black man, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build and he wore a black hoodie. The suspect fled in a black four-door sedan, which sped north on Fairway Driver towards the 60 freeway. The men entered the home in the 19700 block of Balan Road around 7 p.m. October 4. The suspects fled the home once confronted by the resident, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The men fled to the rear of the home and once outside, left in an unknown direction. The method of entry was not disclosed. The men were described as Black, thin and clad in all dark clothing. The robbery occurred at the Game Stop, 17420 Colma Rd., around 9 p.m. September 15. The suspect took games, a PS4 Switch, a red and silver iPhone 6 and an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction. It was not stated if the suspect fled in a waiting vehicle. The suspect is a Hispanic man, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, is bald, has brown eyes and wore a grey shirt and black basketball shorts. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor ROWLAND HEIGHTS - Deputies are still searching for a man and woman involved in an armed carjacking where a child was taken during the crime.
The child turned up at the parents’ home in Baldwin Park roughly 30 minutes after the carjacking occurred. A female victim received unknown injuries after being involved in an initial scuffle with a female suspect, according to Lt. Avola of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station. Deputies were called to the scene at 10:49 p.m. Avala did not know why the altercation began, but the occupants of two vehicles at Camino Bello and Fullerton Road began a heated argument. A physical altercation ensued and a male suspect allegedly brandished a handgun, Avola said. The armed suspect then took the victims’ vehicle. “Unbeknownst to him, there was a 1-year-old infant in the back seat,” Avala said. “Since they know each other, once he realized there was a child in the vehicle, he dropped the child off at the family’s residence,” Avola said. Deputies attempted to find a cell phone left inside the carjacked vehicle and located it at an area park, Avola said. Deputies know who the suspects are. The male suspect may face assault with a deadly weapon, carjacking and kidnapping charges, Avola said. |
