Deputies responding to a burglary call in the 20900 block of Currier Road September 24 found at least six suspects fleeing. After four were detained, deputies found vacuum-sealed marijuana hidden in coffee, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. Deputies were originally told of a burglary in progress with suspects using crowbars to force their way into the unit just before Noon.
About 10 to 15 boxes of the packaged marijuana were found in the suspects’ van parked outside the building. The owner of the unit was not immediately known. The names of those arrested were not disclosed. All four suspects posted bond. San Antonio College Police & Campus Safety Department at 1:45 p.m. September 18. A classmate assaulted the victim inside the vehicle earlier Wednesday in the vicinity of Parking Lot A, according to Mt. SAC officials. Sgt. Cardoza of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Diamond Bar/Walnut Station acknowledged that deputies responded to the call, but declined to provide any details. It is unclear if a suspect has been arrested. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor WALNUT - Deputies are turning to the Public for help in locating a stolen classic car pulled from outside a resident’s home January 22. A red 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Bubble Top 409 was stolen at night on La Tortola Drive by a driver in a large truck equipped with a tow device. An accomplice first drove up in a white sedan and destroyed a window, according to the Diamond Bar/Walnut Sheriff’s Station. The Bel Air Bubble Top was in the owner’s family for four generations.
The suspect vehicles involved were caught on surveillance camera. Anyone who knows the suspects or recognize the vehicles used in the grand theft auto are urged to call the Walnut Sheriff’s detectives at 909-595-2264. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor WALNUT - An older woman was likely followed home from a Rowland Heights bank by three men and robbed after she was pepper sprayed, deputies said Thursday. The robbery occurred in the 700 block of Francesca Drive around 1:30 p.m. February 7. The woman was followed home and as was attacked as she exited her vehicle, according to Sgt. Avila of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The victim lives in a gated community off of Francesca Drive and was followed to her garage, Avila said.
The suspects fled in a black Mercedez, Avila said. Avila declined to say what was taken from the woman. The victim was hospitalized for eye and facial irritation, Avila said. The suspects were described as three Hispanic men, 5 feet 3 inches tall, all were slim and weighed 130 to 150 pounds. All three suspects wore black clothing and bright, colored beanies, deputies said in a crime broadcast. Three men were seen fleeing into a waiting vehicle after burglarizing the home in the 20600 block of Kelfield Drive around 7:45 p.m. October 24, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Walnut/Diamond Bar Station. The three men were described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, all had medium builds and all wore dark hooded sweatshirts and dark jeans. The men fled with a possible bag of stolen items into a waiting dark blue or black four-door Nissan Altima west on Kelfield Drive. The loss was not immediately known. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor WALNUT - A suspect reportedly took cellphone photos or video of a student from under a women’s restroom stall on the Mt. San Antonio College campus Monday night.
The victim saw the suspect under the stall door in building 17, which is located in the center of the more than 400-acre campus around 8 p.m. October 1. Mt. SAC security officers arrived and secured the scene. The suspect had already fled the location and was not found after a search, according to Deputy Chief Bob Wren of the Mt. SAC Police and Campus Safety office. “It’s happened before on occasion,” Wren said of peeping toms. “This is the first time this has happened this semester.” The suspect was reportedly chased from campus by Good Samaritans and by the victim herself, according to eyewitnesses. The suspect is possibly a man, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, had dark shoulder-length hair, wore a grey shirt and dark pants. The Citrus College campus has seen a brief spike in similar cases, with reports of peeping toms in women’s restrooms on September 11 and September 9. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor WALNUT - Three suspects were arrested Monday afternoon after crashing their ride after a long pursuit, Sheriff’s deputies said.
The suspects attempted to get inside a home in the 19800 block of Hidden Trail Place in Walnut, but eventually fled. Arriving deputies alerted nearby units of the suspect vehicle, a brown SUV Porsche with paper plates, which was spotted by a Sheriff’s helicopter fleeing west on the 60 freeway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. The suspects were driving as fast as 90 miles an hour. The suspects crashed into a delivery truck in Bell Gardens after exiting the 710 freeway at Gage Avenue. The suspects fled on foot once their SUV became disabled and took refuge in a repair shop in the 5400 block of Gage Avenue. A massive law enforcement containment involving deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, Compton Sheriff’s Station, Sheriff’s County Services Bureau, Sheriff’s Special Weapons Team and Bell Gardens Police Department helped to locate the suspects, Sheriff’s deputies said.
