Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor SOUTH SAN JOSE HILLS - Four dogs attacked a woman at her home, leaving her with fatal injuries, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s sergeant said.
The woman was fatally injured in the 18000 block of Elizondo Street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was taken to a hospital where she later died. Her 6-year-old son was also injured, according to Sgt. Munshi the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. “The juvenile male received minor injuries and was treated at the scene,” Munshi told SGV CityWatch. The woman was identified as Karen Rosa-Madrid, 26, by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. A coroner exam has yet to be scheduled. The dogs were described as Cane Corsi, Munshi told SGV CityWatch. The Cane Corso is a physically-intimidating breed. The American Kennel Club states “Corsi are intelligent, loyal, eager to please, versatile, and intensely loyal to their humans, but are also assertive and willful, and can end up owning an unwitting owner. As with any other big guardian dog, responsible breeding and early socialization with people and other dogs is vital.” The four dogs are now in the custody of animal control officers, Munshi told SGV CityWatch.
