The shooting took place in the 16400 block of Doublegrove Street around 9:20 p.m. Three armed men in dark clothing used handguns to shoot at some unknown victim or home, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast. Deputies are searching the neighborhood, home, by home, finding bullet holes in walls and windows. The suspects entered two dark sedans and fled the area east on Doublegrove Street. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau identified 18-year-old Ezekiel Griego, the suspect’s nephew, and 60-year-old Jeanita Griego, the victim's sister. The gunman was identified as Thomas Stratton, 64. Ezekiel died after being taken to an area hospital for treatment. Jeanita is on life support. Stratton turned the gun on himself and died at the scene of the shooting, Homicide detectives said. All three lived together at the location. The triple shooting occurred in the 1800 block of Gretta Avenue around 7:24 p.m. September 10. An unidentified resident of the home fled the location after witnessing the suspect shoot his mother and brother, believing he would be shot next. Jeanita planned on evicting Stratton. His health was failing and required him to use an oxygen tank, according to Lt. John Corina of the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau. The apparent murder weapon was recovered at the scene, the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said. An unidentified resident of the home fled the location after witnessing the suspect shoot his mother and brother, believing he would be shot next. The suspect is the uncle of the 18-year-old and brother to the 60-year-old woman killed, according to Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau. Deputies arrived on scene with paramedics. The 18-year-old son and his 60-year-old mother were hospitalized. The son was declared dead at the hospital, the mother was listed in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The 64-year-old gunman was dead at the scene. The gunman was living with his sister and nephews, but the sister planned on evicting the gunman. His health was failing and required him to use an oxygen tank, Corina said. Deputies responded to the home in the 1800 block of Gretta Avenue and found three victims, a man, woman and teenager. Deputies are still investigating if one of the three victims was the one that pulled the trigger, according to Sgt. Ruben Macias of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. Deputies responded around 7:30 p.m. Macias confirmed that two were transported to area hospitals, but when prompted about a possible third victim, Macias said a third victim was shot. The Los Angeles County Fire Department reported only two people were transported from the scene. It is unclear if anyone died from the gunfire. The shooing took place in the 1800 block of Gretta Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Sheriff’s deputies called for firefighters to treat the wounded, according to Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It is unclear if a suspect is outstanding, under arrest, or is one of the wounded. It is not immediately clear what led to the shooting.
