Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VALINDA - Possibly as many as three suspects, at least one of them armed with a handgun, stole thousands in cash and took marijuana products from their victim Sunday morning.
The robbery was reported in the 16000 block of East Maplegrove Street sometime after 9:30 a.m. The victim told the deputies that she was forced face down on the ground during the robbery, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s crime broadcast. Deputies were told that $5,000 worth of marijuana products and $3,000 in cash were taken, according to the crime broadcast. One suspect was reportedly armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. A second silver weapon was possibly used. One suspect was described as a heavy-looking black man in his mid-30s who stands 6 feet 2 inches tall. He wore a gray sweater, sweatpants and a black mask. The victim did not get a good look at the two other suspects, but she described them to deputies as being black. All three suspects fled in an older-model white four-door Honda westbound on Maplegrove towards Valinda. The robbery occurred sometime before 8 p.m. when a male in a black hooded sweatshirt, black Dickies and a black ski mask brandished a black semi-automatic handgun at City Market, 15790 Maplegrove St. September 30, according to Sgt. Martinez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. No one was injured during the robbery, Martinez said.
Nothing else other than the cash was taken. The suspect fled from the store and was seen escaping on foot, Martinez said. Written by AARON CASTREJON | CityWatch Editor EAST VALINDA - Deputies are investigating four suspects behind an armed robbery that occurred Friday night.
The armed robbery occurred around 7:20 p.m. on Backton Avenue near Gemini Street. The suspects approached their victim. One of the suspects produced a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspects fled with $100 and the victim’s vehicle keys, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station crime broadcast. All four suspects are in their early 20s. The first suspect is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was dressed in all black, wore a Raiders hat and sported a tattoo on his neck. Two other male suspects were dressed in all black and one of them wore a Lakers hat. The woman was also dressed in all black. The suspects fled south on Hambledon Avenue and out of view. |
