VINCENT - A mentally disturbed man is hiding in the Little Dalton Wash after allegedly pointing a weapon at people from a residential roof top. Deputies have a search in progress near Arrow Highway and Lark Ellen Avenue. The suspect may be known to deputies as a mentally disturbed person who allegedly has a history of possessing a fake gun, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s radio traffic. Deputies responded to Arrow Highway and Vincent Avenue around 8:30 p.m. to a call of a man on a roof who allegedly pointed a weapon at someone. The man jumped off the roof and took refuge in the wash. During the setup of a perimeter search, deputies located empty shotgun shells. It is unknown if the shells were trash collected by someone or were fired.
Deputies located the suspect in the wash and identified him as the man they have had frequent contact with. He could be heard screaming over the deputy’s radio before he disappeared into a tunnel. A Sheriff’s K-9 unit is en route to assist, as well as deputies from surrounding stations. Get the email Newsletter! | Advertise! | Donate! |
