Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor LA PUENTE – A dead man was found between two bungalows at Baldwin Academy Monday morning, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said.
A gun was recovered at the scene, 1616 Griffith Ave. Deputies and firefighters were called ot the scene just after 9 a.m. November 9. The man was described as being between 25 to 30 years old, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. A janitor discovered the body. As many as five children were on the closed campus, likely there with employees who were working at the school. Everyone was locked down during the response, Long told SGV CityWatch. Sheriff’s Homicide detectives are trying to link this death to call of a man firing a gun nearby at Mullender Avenue and Atwood Street around 10:10 p.m. November 8. The suspect from the Sunday shooting was seen fleeing southbound from Mullender and Atwood. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau is investigating. |
