The robbery was reported just before 5 p.m. at the Metro PCS, 14535 Temple Ave. At least one suspect simulated a handgun during the robbery and forced an employee to the rear of the store, according to Sgt. Magdaleno of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. No injuries were reported. The suspects fled southbound on Clintwood Avenue on foot. They were only described as Black males wearing masks and dressed in all black. The shooting was reported to deputies around 8:01 p.m. in the 17300 block of Hurley Street, December 10. A Hispanic man was found wounded by gunfire. He died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. While the information bureau states that there was no suspect information available, and earlier crime broadcast described two males leaving the area after the shooting. It is unclear, though, if those two meals seen leaving the area are connected to the shooting. Deputies described the weapon as possibly being a black semi automatic handgun. He was hit by multiple gunshots to the upper torso, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The other victim, also a man in his 20s, was struck by multiple rounds of gunfire in the lower torso and one leg. He is expected to survive. The victim spoke to deputies at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station December 4, 2018 about the allegations. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau arrested the suspect August 23 near his La Puente home, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect was identified as 44-year-old Sergio Quintanilla. The victim told detectives that the molestation occurred when he was 8 or 9 years old. The suspect, who was an adult at the time, befriended the family at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness church campus, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The alleged molestation occurred over six to eight months, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “The suspect continued to be an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in the City of La Puente church organization until recently,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “The suspect’s participation in the church organization provided him access to church youth on campus and during youth activities.” The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and one felony count of sodomy of a person under 14 years of age, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The suspect’s bail is set at $450,000. The driver, only described as a man in his 30s, suffered gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He crashed at Valley Boulevard and Trafalgar Avenue and injured multiple people in the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station responded to the scene at 12:45 p.m. The victim was hospitalized and later died from his wounds, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. “It should be noted that after the victim was shot, he continued driving and collided with another vehicle,” according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The shooting took place just before midnight in the 400 block of North Tamar Drive. A suspect in a white sedan opened fire on two people. A man was discovered wounded in the area of Amar Road and Del Valle Avenue just before 8:50 p.m. June 15, by deputies responding to a call of a person down, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau. The man found wounded on a sidewalk died at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau. According to earlier Sheriff’s Department radio traffic, there was apparently no witnesses to the shooting. No suspect description was given. The gunshot victim was found with multiple wounds in the 15000 block of Amar Road around 8:54 p.m. The victim was hospitalized and last listed in critical, but stable condition, according to Lt. Baker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. There is no suspect description. A black sedan was seen fleeing the location, Baker told SGV CityWatch. It is not yet clear to Baker if this latest shooting is tied to other acts of violence in the area.
