CHARTER OAK - A hydrant was sheared and two people were injured in a crash on eastbound Arrow Highway Monday.
The collision occurred at 5 p.m. at eastbound Arrow Highway west of Banna Avenue in the unincorporated community of Charter Oak. Firefighters arrived six minutes later to treat those injured, according to Captain Ron Haralson of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The crash between a black PT Cruiser and a white sedan sent both vehicles onto the southern sidewalk where a hydrant was then sheared.
It was initially reported that four occupants were injured and that children were inside the vehicles when they crashed, but Haralson did not have definitive information on the number, or ages of the patients. At least two patients were transported to Foothill Presbyterian Hospital, according to firefighter radio traffic. Firefighters shut off the sheared hydrant just before 6 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. |
