Deputies investigating the shooting near 8225 Garvey Ave. report that in excess of 10 gunshots were fired from a grey 9 mm handgun at the driver of another vehicle, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department broadcast. Deputies tasked with calling area hospitals to look for a possible gunshot victim, have turned up a likely victim who arrived to San Gabriel Valley Medical Center in San Gabriel, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department radio traffic. The driver of the SUV shot at the driver of a black older-model Toyota Camry. The Camry was seen being driven southbound on San Gabriel Boulevard. The suspect, described as a male Hispanic about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 250 pounds wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and blue and grey shorts, fled eastbound on Garvey Avenue in a dark gray SUV. Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor ROSEMEAD - Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies busted an illegal gambling operation April 14, the department announced.
A search warrant served in the 3100 block of Bartlett Avenue in Rosemead at 10 a.m. Wednesday helped deputies to seize 14 gambling machines, three firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammo, 10 magazines (4 high-capacity), narcotics for sale methamphetamine, heroin, oxycodone and more than $10,000 in US currency, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Two of the three weapons seized were un-serialized “ghost guns.” One man was arrested at the location. He has local gang ties and was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, ammunition, possession of narcotics while armed and possessing narcotics for sale. Rosemead Special Assignment Officers with the Sheriff’s Department, along with Major Crimes Bureau, Casino Unit deputies are investigating. |
