Written by AARON CASTREJON CityWatch Editor VALINDA - Deputies have an unknown-sized crime scene after a man turned up critically injured with a gunshot wound to the chest Monday evening, a Sheriff’s lieutenant said.
The gunshot victim, described as a man in his early 20s, was being sent to a nearby trauma center from Queen of the Valley Hospital, according to Lt. James Long of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Industry Station. The gunshot victim was being transferred to the trauma center when deputies became aware of the shooting just before 6 p.m. “People picked him up with his family and drove him to the hospital. He was already being put in the ambulance when we got the call,” Long told SGV CityWatch. Deputies are also working a potentially-related incident in the area of Valinda Avenue and Wing Lane where gunfire was reported March 16. Bullets were reportedly fired into the air, Long told SGV CityWatch. No other information is available. |
